Does what it says on the c?n Not only does it pra?t?cal?y instantly give matches but you can tap on a word and it'll search for online definitions. If you enter the wrong letters, tough;-)
Easy to use and speedy too I kept ending up on the web at first - so don't click the words returned unless you need the definition. This was just a beginners error and I soon mastered a very handy app. Thanks very much.
Almost perfect The only reason I've said almost perfect is because I would've liked to have seen the definition of a word after finding it without having to connect to an online database. I have a few dictionaries on my phone and it would be great if this app could link to any of them for a definition. I've given 5*'s anyway because it is a great little very helpful program. Thanks.
Great database for obscure/rarely used words The most striking feature of this app is the number of entries a search brings up. However, finding what they actually mean is another matter and can take some doing with online dictionaries. But hey, as some crosswords (like the NY Times) use some mighty obscure stuff, this app can be very helpful.
Place names This is a helpful app but I quite often get stuck at finishing cross words that require country, state, city or town name's. This app would be 5 stars for me if it provided me with those as well :-)
Great app! As others have said, it does exactly what it sets out to do, and does so brilliantly. Suggested new features: 1) enhance the anagram feature to produce a list of possible words from the input pattern; 2) introduce a topic filter to allow shortening of long lists.
Google Dictionary and Encarta Dictionary are no longer available and have been replaced with a Google search for word definitions. It is still possible to choose from a list of definition providers in Settings.
