ステージにうまくアイテムを置いて仕掛けをうまく動かしてステージ毎に決められた条件をクリアしていこう。女の子のキャラ「ひまわり」が仕掛けの中を動きまわるのをうまく生かそう。でも思い通りに行かない事も。

応用編である「コロぱた 頭の体操？」は全２５ステージ。物理計算を行うエンジンを搭載しているので、中のからくり、仕掛けがリアルに連鎖反応をおこし動きます。「ひまわり」は機嫌や体力で行動が変わったりするので思いがけない事がおこりプレイヤーを飽きさせません。

アンドロイド版「コロぱた」はニンテンドーＤＳで２００９年に発売された「コロぱた」をアンドロイド向けに縦画面で片手でも操作可能なようにする等、からくりパズルの面白さをお手軽に楽しめるようアレンジしたゲームになっています。
