The way to measure the speed of internet on your mobile or tablet is making more accurate calculation based on a transfer of an appropriate file from a server with enough bandwidth.
This Android application speedometer does exactly that: Determines the speed between your Android device and our server placed in Chicago, USA.
The speed measurement process can be seen in 3 distinct parts:
1) The application generates a preliminary report of speed to see that reasonable size must be the file to transfer to perform the actual calculation.
2) Performs calculation with an appropriate file
3) Return the results in megabits per second and kbytes, contrasting with a graphic below that compares different commercial speeds achieved against your Android device.
The entire process of measuring speed Internet can not take more than 10 seconds, and implementation at all times inform that part of the process is.
Finally, visually is not very showy because I do not think it makes sense to add graphics and backgrounds to data to be 100% functional outcome, but maybe in the future add some cosmetic items.
