You can use it to do some controls and settings , such as dimming and grading, setting various dynamic modes and scenes, music rhythms of several sound sources and optional rhythm styles, timer setting for lights on/off, pixel setting, line sequence setting, etc.
MagicLantern App is designed to be fun and easy to use, with a certain degree of professionalism and ease of use.

Using for icicar led pods. When the app opens, it always says it's on when the lights aren't on. You have to toggle once or twice to get the lights to actually turn on. The app starts from auto play when you turn it on. The module remembered the last mode that was on, but the app doesn't. Very annoying. Can't make any custom sequences. Can't save a list of favorite patterns. I wish I had thought to check out the app before installing the lights. I would have returned them.

I want to like this app, I really do, but it's next to useless 95% of the time. It randomly disconnects from the light and is next to impossible to get it to reconnect. Even when the app says its connected it doesn't work. Whatever setting you have the light on from whenever the app actually worked is pretty much what you're stuck with all the time. It even randomly turns the light on when you've turned it off. The physical light itself seems well built, but the app is horrible to use.

The schedule doesn't save. You have to set it every single day. Why? Also, how do you import mp3's into the app? I've only done so accidentally. How do you customize colors and patterns? Also, the Bluetooth doesn't always connect. You can change it to RGB from RBG in the pin sequence, but as it comes the colors aren't correct until you change it. It's confusing a lot of users based on the reviews. If you want static you have to use your remote control (for my lights). Not user friendly.
