You can use it to do some controls and settings , such as dimming and grading, setting various dynamic modes and scenes, music rhythms of several sound sources and optional rhythm styles, timer setting for lights on/off, pixel setting, line sequence setting, etc.
MagicLantern App is designed to be fun and easy to use, with a certain degree of professionalism and ease of use.

UPDATE: After a week it takes minutes to connect and drops connection almost instantly. Returning the lights for ones with remotes, hopefully those work better. Connection is brutal, drops all the time. Lights will randomly turn on even when you turn them off with the app. Schedule is useless because as soon as your phone leaves the room it doesn't work. When it does connect it does work well, but overall not great.

Needs to add color schemes for the normal holidays. It's Halloween and ironic since the text is orange but the app has no dynamic effects using orange. It only has a couple for purple. For orange only a static color can be used. It would need one for red-white-blue too. I'm sure with a simple update this could be added easily. The range is short to connect to Bluetooth. One really needs to be standings next to the lights. The antenna is not doing the job. It should connect up to 25 feet easily.

The app works great with the Megulla dreamcolor strip I got off Amazon. I don't seem to have any connectivity issues so far. The only addition I want to see in this app is the "breathing" mode for single colors. In the app its called "Gradual" under the basic tab but it's multi-color right now. 5 stars if you can add this mode for single colors so that only one colors goes on/off rather than switching colors on/off
