Encryption Protocol
First and foremost, all of your conversations are stored in end-to-end encryption. You never have to worry about your data leaking out and no one can see your messages except for you, not even the Pulse SMS Team! With Pulse SMS, you get privacy and peace of mind, right out of the box.

Privacy Protection Proof
In technical terms, we use PBKDF2 to encrypt your password and use it as a key to encrypt messages and conversations.

Technical Encryption Overview

1) When an account is created, we generate two salts. One to use with authentication and one for end-to-end encryption.

2) The one that we use with login is straight-forward and normal. We store a version of your password, hashed against the first salt, and authenticate you against this hash.

3) For the encryption, we hash your password against salt #2 and store it locally on your device (computer/tablet/phone). Having this key is the only way that you can decrypt messages. Since no one else has the password that was hashed against the second salt, no one else will be able to decrypt anything.

We share our privacy protocol publicly so our users have peace of mind knowing their password is never stored anywhere and without that password, there is no way to create the secret key used for encrypting and decrypting the content stored in the backend.

*Backups and registered user accounts for all users (free users, subscribers, one time purchases) are deleted after 60 days of inactivity.

customization is limited and really no different than other apps. this one requires payment otherwise you have advertising. sometimes you need to watch a stupid video first in order to read a text you got. there are far better sms apps out there than this one that are FREE, without advertising. I used it for 10 min and the advertising pissed me off right away. this one is a hard pass. uninstalled.

I loved this app and was using it for several years rather than the stock app. But over the last few weeks, I've had issues such as it crashing when trying to use Android Auto, which isn't a huge deal. The big problem is it... hiding texts from random contacts? and when I would try to type in that contact to text them, it would crash and not let me text them... I loved this app, I loved the customization. But it isn't working now.

Cannot get it to sync to my other phone, which is one of the 'selling points'. It loads, but it's behind messages and messes with the app installed on the main phone. Most of the time, the main phone fails to send pics that most apps easily handle, forcing me to use diff messenger for pics. The notification tag shows unread messages, but the unread message file is empty! All this & it's the paid version! Not so smooth, but maybe it's me! Like the categories, tho! Could use more display choices.
