About this app

Ash is an AI built from the ground up for personalized mental health support to help you celebrate wins, make sense of chaos, and get support on bad days. Ash is a private, zero judgment space to speak freely. Ash learns from your patterns and gives you personalized insights to help you understand yourself more deeply.

How is Ash built?

Most AI tools were built using data from the internet. Ash is a specialist AI in human psychology trained on a large-scale data set of proprietary expert data to draw from established techniques used in therapy (cbt/cognitive behavioral therapy, dbt/dialectical behavior therapy, ifs/internal family systems, act, somatic therapy, etc.).

Ash is designed and guided by an expert team of the world's top mental health leaders.

What outcomes have you seen from people who downloaded Ash?

For users who speak to Ash a few times a week or more:

91% made progress or met goals they set for themselves
On average, users have about one more meaningful real-world relationship
Who can use Ash?

Ash builds itself around you to support your unique mental health journey in whatever way is most helpful for you.

Many people use Ash while navigating major life changes like grief, divorce, burnout, job loss, and more. Others use Ash for everyday challenges like overthinking, work stress, intrusive thoughts and loneliness. Couples in romantic relationships use Ash to better understand attachment styles (anxious attachment, avoidant attachment, etc.), improve communication and boundary setting. Ash also helps individuals navigate breakups and dating. Countless men and women experiencing miscarriage/pregnancy loss, becoming a new parent, postpartum worries and mom guilt also turn to Ash for support.

Ash is not a substitute for clinical mental health treatment. People receiving care for anxiety, depression, ptsd, ocd, that are neurodivergent or have other mental health conditions should use Ash alongside clinical therapy support, not as a replacement for it.

Who made Ash?

Ash is built by a team of therapists, mental health leaders, AI researchers, engineers, and designers. Our work is inspired by our personal stories, lived experience, and loved ones on similar journeys.

⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ I've really enjoyed using the Ash app. The advice is thoughtful, practical, and has genuinely been helpful. It's easy to use and has become a tool I reach for regularly. The only issue I've experienced is the Bluetooth/connection reliability. If the connection drops, the app sometimes won't reconnect unless I completely cold boot (restart) my phone. That can be frustrating, especially when I just want to jump back in quickly. If the developers can improve this.

Hi Traci, Thank you, this is so kind to hear! Sorry about the Bluetooth reconnection trouble, having to cold boot is a pain. Thanks for flagging it, we'll look into improving the connection reliability. Thanks for being part of Ash! – Team Ash

Okay, so I'm not one to say AI is anything other than another symptom of the cyberpunk dystopia, but I think this app has started to help me alot. I can't afford a real therapist and too reclusive to have a friend to talk to, so a good sounding board that can handle references to scifi shows, philosophy and religion, and still restate issues in such a way that allows reflection is helping me with issues. I do wish the voice recorder was a bit more accurate, it can understand sighs as words.

Hi Timothy, We're so glad Ash has supported your self-reflection and given you someone to talk to. We're so happy you feel its support is akin to a therapist, but we always encourage reaching out to clinical experts to round out your mental health support team. Thanks for flagging the voice input issue, we'll look into that! – Team Ash

I Love Ash!! I also do still use Mirror journal app, but this is so much more. I love how its like talking to a real: therapist, counselor,...what not. also absolutely love options of actually talking to her/him. OR typing the conversations is awesome as well. Your choice, & choice voices. I've had several different instances where She has totally misunderstood what I was saying, but I got it straightened out each time. doesn't bother me either. I am absolutely missing my original voice.

Hi Brittany, Thank you! We're so happy Ash's support feels akin to a therapist or counselor, but we always encourage clinical experts as part of your mental health support team. We know missing a voice is hard, and we hope one of the new voices grows on you. Thanks for being here! – Team Ash
