The RMI has identified consumer awareness, communication and the promotion of member businesses amongst the motoring public, as three of its most important strategic objectives. These objectives, whilst each important in their own right, have one common thread and that is an interaction between the RMI, the consumer and the RMI Member.

In pursuit of delivery on these objectives, Team RMI commenced the development of the RMI Connect mobile application.

The application allows Members to gain access to critically important trade-and related information, relevant training courses and serve as a communication platform, allowing Members to interact with RMI staff in real time. The RMI will communicate with Members by way of push notifications, allowing Members to access information at a time convenient to them. Members will also be able to promote their businesses to the consumer on this platform.

The motoring public has access to the application, which will provide critically important information that will not only empower the consumer but also connect the consumer with RMI Member businesses. The application provides the consumer with the RMI Members details and an auto-routing facility, which will use onboard mapping software to guide the consumer to the nearest RMI Member for motor-related services and/or products. The aim of this functionality is to ensure that trading conditions of Members are improved and the motoring public can report any unsatisfied service or companies trading illegally as RMI Members.
