Your registration can change without anyone telling you.
A status moves, a category is amended, a qualification is added, or the registration period quietly runs down to 31 March. The registers are public,
and they are accurate, but they do not send notices. Lens does.
Lens reads your own record on the HPCSA and PCNS public registers about twice a month, keeps every reading, and tells you when one of them changes. Most
months it will have nothing to report. That is the point.
How it works
Give Lens your HPCSA registration number, and your PCNS practice number if you hold one. Nothing else is needed to start. Lens looks up your own record, on your instruction.
Readings are staggered across the fortnight rather than run all at once, and never in bulk. You can also ask for a check yourself, once a day per register.
Every reading is kept and compared with the last. If nothing moved, nothing
happens, and you can still see that we looked, and when.
What Lens watches
Registration status, from the HPCSA. Active, suspended, erased or expired. A
change here is the loudest thing Lens can tell you.
Practice number status, from the PCNS. Active or not, plus whether a
dispensing licence is on record.
Category and board, from the HPCSA. Your practice type, speciality and
professional board, as the register states them.
Qualifications, from the HPCSA. Added qualifications appear in your feed. They are news, not an alarm.
Registration period, from the HPCSA. Every practitioner on the register runs
to 31 March. Lens counts down to it and reminds you before it closes.
When something changes
A push notification, and an email if you ask for one. Each says what changed,
and when we saw it. Routine news stays quiet. The things that need an answer do not.
What Lens will never do
Lens is an independent monitoring service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed
by, or operated by the HPCSA or the PCNS.
We never write to a regulator, and never act on your behalf.
We never submit, renew or pay anything for you.
We never sell or share what we read.
We never show a fact without saying when we last saw it.
Your numbers are stored so we can re-check them, and for nothing else. You can export everything Lens holds about you, and delete all of it, from your profile at any time. Consent is recorded separately for each purpose, and each one can be withdrawn on its own.
