How does it work?

The app retrieves weather data from the skyHK Server powered by Google App Engine whenever possible while a device is using mobile data. The skyHK Server obtains data from the Hong Kong Observatory's website and data feeds regularly, then serialize the data to reduce data size and facilitate data transfer to Android devices, in order to optimize the devices' battery life and reduce the mobile data usage. In case the server becomes unavailable, the app would obtain weather data from the Hong Kong Observatory directly instead.

Special thanks to the Hong Kong Observatory for authorizing the provision of weather data, the Environmental Protection Department for providing the AQHI data via Data. One, and @AdamWhitcroft for creating the delicate Climacons icons set.

Get Off Minibus!

DynAPPmics
A minibus (public light bus) is a popular public transport mode in Hong Kong. Both green and red minibuses in the city are efficient means of transport and act as an important supplement to other public road passenger transport. However, it is not easy for foreigners, mute people and even people who are suffering from a severe sore throat to request to get off from the vehicle on the next stop - since calling out the place you wish to alight is a common practice in Hong Kong to notify the driver to stop the minibus.

From now on, you do not need to worry about this anymore. With "Get Off Minibus!", you can call out your request to alight with simply a tap on your smartphone or tablet - this app is loaded with various Cantonese recordings that assist you to request to get off at different locations. Get this app today and enjoy travelling by minibus!

Special thanks to HKGolden member 虎 and 如夢幻泡影 for providing audio files.

Shutter Count

DynAPPmics
*** REMINDER ***
Shutter Count works with UNEDITED JPEG files which are output directly from Nikon DSLRs ONLY. DO NOT download if you are trying to test the shutter actuations of other brands' cameras.

Shutter Count helps you check the total number of shutter actuations of your Nikon DSLR on Android devices. It is pretty useful when you are checking a camera, especially a used one, before buying it. You can check the shutter count through loading a JPG file in the app.

Shutter Count supports a majority of Nikon DSLRs currently.

This app has been proven to work perfectly with Nikon D3100, D5000, D5100, D90, D7000 and D300S. It should also work well with newer models. Please ensure that the photo you load into the app is a direct output from your camera without any modification.

Thanks to Drew Noakes for creating the excellent Java library Metadata Extractor.
