Al-Masjid al-Nabawi, "Mosque of the Prophet", often called the Prophet's Mosque, is a mosque built by the Islamic Prophet Muhammad situated in the city of Medina. It is the second holiest site in Islam (the first being the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca). It was the second mosque built in history and is now one of the largest mosques in the world. After an expansion during the reign of al-Walid I, it also now incorporates the site of the final resting place of Muhammad and early Muslim leaders Abu Bakr and Umar.

The site was originally adjacent to Muhammad's house; he settled there after his Hijra (emigration) to Medina in 622. He shared in the heavy work of construction. The original mosque was an open-air building. The basic plan of the building has been adopted in the building of other mosques throughout the world.

SHIVA Shivling Live Wallpaper

Hobbypoint.in
This is a beautiful high quality live wallpaper of God Shiva Shankar. It features Shivji and Shivling with shower of animated snow, flowers, diya and leaves.

Shiva is a popular Hindu God. He is the most worshiped God in India, when compared to other Gods. This cult of Shiv is known as Shaivism. Spread of Shaivism in India is very deep and to the roots of Indian community. We can find worshippers of Shiva in common Hindu people as well as the tribal communities all over India. We can find them from Gujarat to Assam and from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. He is worshiped even in Nepal, Sri Lanka and some other countries.

It is interesting to know that there are many similarities between the Shiv of Hindus and Rishabh, the first Teerthankar of Jains. Please have a look on following similarities.

Rishabh is a naked ascetic. This fact is conformed by all Jain literature and Hindu Purans. This naked tradition of ascetics in Jainism is known as Digambar Tradition. On the other hand Shiv is also Digambar. Digambar is not only one of his designation names, but he was actually a naked God. That is why the seals of naked yogis found in excavation of Indus valley civilization are claimed by Shaivites and Jains, being of Shiv or Rishabh.

Shiv is another name of Rishabh in Jain tradition. We can find the word Shiv in many Jain texts, where it is the name of designation (Shivpad or Shivhood) or the name of Rishabh.

Shiva lingam is the holy symbol of Lord shiva that is considered quite sacred and worshipped with devotion by the devotees. The sanskrit word lingam means symbol, so shiva lingam means symbol of shiva. It is considered the foremost sacred symbol for shaivaites and has been worshiped for ages. The purANas like shiva mahA purANam discuss about the superiority of linga worship. Shivlinga stands for the union of Shiva / consciousness with Shakti/ energy and that is the cause of the cosmos.

Both Shiv and Rishabh are known as Adinath. Both of them are related to Mount Kailash and Himalaya.

Shiva is the god of the yogis, self-controlled and celibate, while at the same time a lover of his spouse (shakti). While of course many hindu deities are associated with different paths of yoga and meditation, in Shiva the art of meditation takes its most absolute form. In meditation, not only mind is stopped, everything is dropped. In deep meditation or samadhi, even the object of the meditation (like a mantra) is transformed into its formless essence, which is the essence of everything and everyone. Thus Shiva stands for letting go of everything in the world of forms. The path of Lord Shiva is the path of the ascetic yogi.

Maha Shivratri, the night of the worship of Lord Shiva, occurs on the 14th night of the new moon during the dark half of the month of Phalguna. It falls on a moonless February night, when Hindus offer special prayer to the lord of destruction. Shivratri (Sanskrit 'ratri' = night) is the night when he is said to have performed the Tandava Nritya or the dance of primordial creation, preservation and destruction. The festival is observed for one day and one night only.

ALLAH Makkah HQ Live Wallpaper

Hobbypoint.in
This is a beautiful high quality live wallpaper of Mecca, Medina, Al Masjid al Haram Mosque, Kaaba and Allah. Download to your mobile, feel close to Allah and spread love, peace and prosperity.

Makkah is the place where the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, was born - the place where God's message was first revealed to him and the city to which he returned after the migration to Madinah in 622 AD.

Makkah is the blessed city which is the most beloved land in the sight of Allah (swt) and the chosen location of his House. It was here that the final prophet and guide of the whole of mankind, Muhammad (s.a.w.), was born and commenced his Prophethood. Allah (swt) has called Makkah by five names in the Holy Quran: Makkah, Bakkah, Al-Balad, Al-Qaryah and Ummul-Qura.

Makkah is a holy city, and non-Muslims are not permitted to enter it. But for Muslims the pilgrimage to Makkah, or the hajj, is one of the basic tenets of the religion. Each year, over 1,000,000 people visit during the month of pilgrimage. The core of Mecca, including the commercial district, surrounds the al-Haram or Great Mosque, which can hold 300,000 people. Inside the mosque, the Kaaba (a shrine enclosing a sacred Black Stone) and the well of Zamzam are located. They are the focus of the pilgrimage.

The Masjid al Haram is a mosque in the city of Mecca (or "Makkah"). It is considered by Muslims to be the holiest place on Earth and is the focal point of the hajj pilgrimage required of all able-bodied Muslims as one of the Five Pillars of Islam.

According to Islamic tradition, the mosque was built by Ibrahim (Abraham) with the help of his son Ishmael. They were ordered by Allah to build the mosque, and the Kaaba contained therein is supposed to be a model of the house of God in heaven. The Kaaba also contains the Black Stone which supposedly fell from heaven and turned black due to man's misdeeds. The story of Ishmael and his mother's search for water also takes place in the general vicinity of the mosque. In the story, Hagar runs between the hills of Safah and Marwah looking for water for her son, until God eventually reveals to her the Zamzam Well, from where water continues to flow to this day. The episode of Hagar's frantic search for water is emulated by Muslims as they run between the two hills whenever they visit Mecca.

The mosque itself has always been an important part of Arab culture. Even in per-Islamic days it was a site for pilgrimages by pre-monotheistic Arabs, who filled the Kaaba with idols of the gods they worshiped. This episode is seen as a corruption of what the Kaaba was meant for, and the fact that they had strayed from the path of God explains why God sent Muhammad as a messenger to the people of Mecca. Muhammad's grandfather, Abu Muttalib, was a caretaker of the Kaaba, and Muhammad spent much time there in prayer and reflection.

Guru Nanak HQ Live Wallpaper

Hobbypoint.in
Shri Guru Nanak is the founder of Sikhism. Sikhism is still based on his teachings and those of the nine Sikh Gurus who followed him. Guru Nanak Gurpurab also known as Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Prakash Utsav, marks the birth anniversary of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak. This is one of the most sacred festivals in Sikhism. Apart from Sikhs, the Nanakpanthi Hindus and other followers of Guru Nanak's philosophy also celebrate this festival.

Guru Nanak was born in 1469 in what is now Pakistan. At the age of 30 he mysteriously disappeared for 3 days. When he reappeared, he began to preach the Sikh faith and spent the rest of his life teaching, writing and traveling around the world to discuss religion with Muslims and Hindus. Shiri Guru Nanak's divinity and religious authority made him popular all over the world. He believed that “God” is neither Hindu nor Muslim and the path which he follows is the path of God.

Guru Nanak's concept and vision of the Supreme Being is embodied in terse terms in the Sikh Fundamental Creed, Mool Mantra, literally meaning the Root Formula. Because of its importance as a basic theological declaration around which revolves the whole Sikh philosophical thought, it is most appropriately placed in the very beginning of the Sikh scripture, the Guru Granth Sahib. It affirms in unequivocal terms Guru Nanak's uncompromising belief in monotheism. In the original the text read as:

"Ik Onkar Satnam Karta Purakh Nirbhau Nirvair Akaal Murat, Ajuni Saibhang Gurprasad"

The English rendering would approximate to:

There is One and only One God who is transcendent as well as immanent. True and Eternal Name. Creator and Person. Without Fear and without Enmity. Timeless Form, Unborn, Self-existent. Realized by Divine Grace.

Guru Nanak Live Wallpaper spreads message of peace, harmony and attachment to God. His picture on your Android Mobile screens will give the essence of love, sacrifice and will make you feel connected to him. Get the blessing of Guru Nanak with this amazing, beautiful, high quality and high resolution Android live wallpaper. Radha Krishna Live Wallpaper

Hobbypoint.in
This is a beautiful high quality live wallpaper of Shri Krishna and Radha. It features Lord Krishna & Radha with his cow, shower of animated leaves, flowers, flutes and diyas.

Shri Krishna is the soul of Radha and Radha is definitely the soul of Shri Krishna. The relationship of Radha and Krishna is the embodiment of love, passion and devotion. Radha's passion for Krishna symbolizes the soul's intense longing and willingness for the ultimate unification with God. She is the undivided form of Shri Krishna. She will remain a mystery unless one can know her inexpressible divine elements. She is worshiper as well as his deity to be worshiped. She being a beloved of Shri Krishna is known as "Radhika".

The whole universe material and spiritual is the creation of Shri Radha - Krishna. Shri Radha is the presiding Goddess of Shri Krishna. The Paramatma - supreme Lord - is subservient to her. In her absence Shri Krishna does not exist.

Krishna was born on the day, which was the 8th phase of the moon (Ashtami) and Janma means “birth”, the day when He was born is called Janamashtami. Krishna’s birthday is called by different names such as Janmashtami, Sri Krishna Jayanthi, Gokulashtami and the likes, since Krishna was born on the 8th day of the increasing phase of the moon, which in the Indian Calendar System is called Ashtami. The word Ashtami is etymologically similar to Octa in Greek, from which comes the word ‘eight’ in English.

Radha is recognized as the loveliest of all the cowgirls. She was the wife of Ayana and the daughter of the cowherd Vrishabhanu and his wife, Kamalavati. Radha was a childhood friend and soulmate of Krishna and the two were inseparable as playmates and later as lovers. Theirs was a love hidden from society, given Radha's status of a married woman. They had their moments of love, passion and anger - just like any two lovers in love and yet their love could not stand the test of duty that Krishna had to face.

Shri Krishna had to leave Vrindavan, and Radha, to ensure that the ideals of truth and justice were established but in the process had to let down the ideal of personal love. He became a king, defeated innumerable enemies and even married a number of times. And yet it is said Radha kept waiting for him to come back to her. Her love for Krishna is considered so divine and so pure that Radha herself obtained the status of a deity, with her name being inseparably linked to that of Krishna. Most of Krishna's images are considered complete when Radha stands by his side.

Brajbhoomi where Lord Krishna was born comprises the twin cities of Mathura and Vrindavan. It is not just a sacred land where Lord Krishna was born and performed His cosmic leela, but a place full of divine reminiscences. It was here that He ultimately found Radha, His inseparable companion. Vrindavan, 15 km from Mathura, was the favorite haunt of the divine couple.

Tirupati BALAJI Live Wallpaper

Hobbypoint.in
This is a beautiful high quality live wallpaper of Tirupati Balaji, also known as Venkateshwar, Govinda and Srinivasa. It features Lord Balaji and Tirumala Venkateswara Temple with shower of animated flowers, diya and leaves.

Considered one of the most sacred temples in India, the Tirumala Tirupati Sri Venkateswara Temple is situated in the town of Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Also known as the Tirupati Balaji Temple, it has become a focal point of contemporary religion in India, and is dedicated to Sri Venkateswara who is the presiding deity and also known by the name of Lord Balaji, Lord Srinivasa, or Seshadri. He is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the Preserver of the Universe.

The Tirupati Temple originated in Vaishnavism and Hinduism and observes the philosophy of equality, and love. Sri Venkateswara attracts crowds of all ages, faiths and nationalities for his belief in his ability to answer prayers and perform the most improbable miracles.

Tirupati Balaji is perhaps the greatest ‘pilgrimage phenomenon in the world, Not solely because of the millions who visit it, but because of the immense bhav (inner sentiments) with which pilgrims venerate the deity. Devotees readily donate not just cash, but whatever jewellery they may be wearing, in addition to their hair! Yes, pilgrims readily have their heads shaved to offer their hair. Even married women! Otherwise in India’s tradition, only widows may have their heads shaved. This means that thousands of barbers are needed and tons of hair is produced every month.

After the hair are removed, it is an important ritual to bathe in the Pushkarini Sarovar. Varahswami’s mandir lies west of this lake. It is said that Garudji brought Pushkarini from Vaikunth for Varahswami to bathe in. It is an important ritual to first have the darshan of Varahswami and then Balaji’s.

This tirth is located in the Chittur district of Andhra Pradesh, 10 km from Renigunta station on the Mumbai-Chennai railway. ‘Tiru’ in Telugu means Shri (Lakshmi). ‘Pati’ means husband. Hence Tirupati is Shri’s consort, Vishnu. The Venkateshwar Mandir, in which Tirupati is consecrated, is located between seven hills, on a saucer–shaped plateau called Venkatachalam or Venkatadri.

Bhagwan Venkateshwar came down from Narayanadri to Venkatadri. On Narayanadri, which is 3,629 feet high, there is Narayanpad mandir. Here, Bhagwan Venkateshwar’s lotus feet are sculpted in stone.

The Purans mention that Mount Meru was situated here. However it shattered in the dual between Adishesh and Vayu devas. The mountain represents Sheshnag and is also called Sheshachal.

Shri Balaji’s (Venkateshwar) seven feet high murti has a shankh (conch), chakra (disc), gada (mace) and padma (lotus). The murti is adorned with valuable ornaments. On either side are the murtis of Shridevi and Bhudevi, as in Muktanath. Balaji’s small utsav (mobile) murti is made of gold.

To allow every pilgrim darshan of Bhagwan, the mandir has to be kept open virtually 24 hours.

This is a beautiful high quality live wallpaper of Shri Krishna. It features Lord Krishna with Flute, Radha and his cow with shower of animated flowers, flutes and diyas.

As Krishna’s birth was celebrated first in Gokul, Vrindavan, the day is also called Gokulashtami. The word Gokula means, “place of cows”, Go meaning “cow”, and Kul meaning “lineage”. Gokula is the place of the lineage of people who nurtured cows. Even though Krishna was born in Mathura, His father was in chains along with His mother in prison, where they could not celebrate His birth. They sent him away to safer place, away from His maternal uncle, the vile Kamsa. So, His birth was first celebrated in Gokula, Vrindavan and this day is also called Gokulashtami.

Krishna’s birthday is also called Sri Krishna Jayanthi.
Why is it called a Jayanthi? Some aspects in astronomy continue to remain mysteries. Ancient Indian astronomers seem to have fixed certain nomenclature for certain configurations, besides the names of the stars.

JESUS CHRIST HQ Live Wallpaper

Hobbypoint.in
This is a beautiful high quality live wallpaper of God Jesus Christ. It features Jesus, Wooden Cross, with shower of animated flowers, leaves, candles and cross.

Jesus Christ is often compared to other prophets and teachers, but He is the most unique person to ever live. Everything from His birth to after His death was miraculous and set Him apart from everyone else. Jesus was born by a virgin -- a natural impossibility. Before His mother Mary was married, she was told by an angel she would give birth to the Son of God. When she asked him how this could be, he answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God." Just as promised, the virgin Mary gave birth to Jesus Christ, the most incredible person to ever have lived.

Just as promised, God raised His Son Jesus back to life -- eternal life -- on the third day after His burial. He was seen by His closest friends and over 500 of His followers before He went up into heaven before their very eyes. After His resurrection, his close friend Peter told a great crowd to repent from their sins and believe in Jesus Christ to be saved, "for the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call." This promise is for you! There are many religions and prophets, but no one but Jesus Christ offers complete forgiveness from your sins and eternal life with God. He has already died for your sins; now you must put your faith in Him. "For if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." If you believe in Jesus, you can pray a prayer like this right now and receive the gift of eternal life.

Jesus' life was just as amazing as His birth. At 30 years old, He went out into the cities of Israel and began teaching and healing people. The Bible records that He was different from other preachers, for "the people were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes." Likewise, there was no disease too great for His power. It says, "They brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments. and He healed them." Threatened by His fame and authority, the political and religious authorities conspired to kill Him.

His death had been predicted over a thousand years before. The prophet Isaiah wrote of Jesus, "He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement for our peace was upon Him and by His stripes we are healed." Jesus would pay the penalty for our sins so that we could be forgiven and have eternal life. Just as had been predicted, Jesus was given the most brutal death sentence of that day for maintaining that He was the Son of God. While hanging on a wooden cross with spikes through His hands and feet, He prayed, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." Jesus had power to come down from the cross, but He chose to sacrifice His life for others.

Jai HANUMAN HQ Live Wallpaper

Hobbypoint.in
This is a beautiful high quality live wallpaper of Shri Hanuman. It features Mahavir Hanuman, Rama, the statue of iskcon temple with shower of animated flowers, leaves and diyas.

Hanuman is one of the many deities of the Hindu tradition. He is regarded as the monkey-general of a mythic monkey kingdom, known as Kiskindha. In Hindu tradition, Hanuman is most commonly known for his role in the Ramayana a Sanskrit epic featuring the characters of Rama, Sita, Hanuman, and Laksmana, character of the Ramayana epic; Laksmana is his brother who accompanies Rama during his banishment from his kingdom. The story of the birth of Hanuman goes thus: Vrihaspati, the preceptor of the gods, had an attendant called Punjikasthala. She was cursed to assume the form of a female monkey - a curse that could only be nullified if she would give birth to an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Reborn as Anjana, she performed intense austerities to please Shiva, who finally granted her the boon that would cure her of the curse.

When Agni, the god of fire gave Dasharath, the king of Ayodhya, a bowl of sacred sweet food to share among his wives so that they may have divine children, an eagle snatched a part of the pudding and dropped it where Anjana was meditating, and Pavana, the god of wind delivered the drop to her outstretched hands. After she took the divine dessert, she gave birth to Hanuman. Thus Lord Shiva incarnated as a monkey, and was born as Hanuman to Anjana, by the blessings of Pavana, who thus became Hanuman's godfather.

The Ramayana describes how Hanuman was devoted to Rama and willingly set off to Lanka to search for Sita. Rama is unable to go himself; he had been expelled from the city for his 14 year exile. Earlier in the Ramayana, Rama had said that everywhere, even among the animals, can be found good creatures that follow the ways of righteousness, that are brave and provide a sure place of refuge. This statement fits the description of Hanuman, for he is a loyal and virtuous being, and he is willing to endure the risk of crossing into Ravana’s land to save Sita. Hanuman does find Sita, but she refuses to return with him because of her loyalty to her husband. She is unwilling to touch another man, and believes that it is Rama’s duty (dharma) to save her himself.

The character of Hanuman teaches us of the unlimited power that lies unused within each one of us. Hanuman directed all his energies towards the worship of Lord Rama, and his undying devotion made him such that he became free from all physical fatigue. And Hanuman's only desire was to go on serving Rama.

Hanuman met Rama and his brother Lakshmana while Rama was in exile in the jungle, and searching for his wife Sita who was abducted by Ravana. Their quest brought them near Pampa Lake at the foot of Mount Risyamukha, where the monkey king Sugriva and his ministers were hiding. Sugriva, who was being persecuted by his brother Bali, suspected that Rama and Lakshmana might have been sent by Bali to slay him. To find out the facts, Hanuman approached them in the guise of a Brahmin.

Shirdi SAI BABA Live Wallpaper

Hobbypoint.in
This is a beautiful high quality live wallpaper of Shirdi SAI BABA. It features Lord Sai Baba, Shirdi with shower of animated flowers and leaves.

Shirdi Sai Baba, also known as Sai Baba of Shirdi, was an Indian guru, yogi and fakir who is regarded by his Hindu and Muslim followers as a saint. Some of his Hindu devotees believe that he was an incarnation of Shiva or Dattatreya, and he was regarded as a sadguru and an incarnation of Kabir.

Sai Baba taught a moral code of love, forgiveness, helping others, charity, contentment, inner peace, devotion to God and guru. His philosophy was Advaita Vedanta and his teachings consisted of elements both of this school as well as of bhakti and Islam.

The name 'Sai Baba' is a combination of Persian and Indian origin; Sāī (Sa'ih) is the Persian term for "holy one" or "saint", usually attributed to Islamic ascetics, whereas Bābā is a word meaning "father" used in Indian languages. The appellative thus refers to SaiBaba as being a "holy father" or "saintly father". His parentage, birth details, and life before the age of sixteen are obscure, which has led to a variety of speculations and theories attempting to explain the SaiBaba's origins. In his life and teachings he tried to reconcile Hinduism and Islam: SaiBaba lived in a mosque, was buried in a Hindu temple, practised Hindu and Muslim rituals, and taught using words and figures that drew from both traditions. One of his well known epigrams says of God: "Allah Malik" ("God is Master").

Shirdi SaiBaba remains a popular saint and is worshipped mainly in Maharashtra, southern Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Debate on his Hindu or Muslim origins continues to take place. He is also revered by several notable Hindu and Sufi religious leaders. Some of his disciples received fame as spiritual figures and saints.

Sri SaiBaba left his physical body in October 15, 1918.... but he is believed to be with us even more now than he was earlier

ALLAH Imam Reza Shrine HQ LWP

Hobbypoint.in
This is a beautiful high quality live wallpaper of Imam Reza Shrine and Allah. Download to your mobile, feel close to Allah and spread love, peace and prosperity.

Imām Reza shrine (Persian: حرم امام رضا‎) in Mashhad, Iran is a complex which contains the mausoleum of Imam Reza, the eighth Imām of Twelver Shi'ites. It is the largest mosque in the world by dimension and the second largest in capacity. Also contained within the complex include: the Goharshad Mosque, a museum, a library, four seminaries, a cemetery, the Razavi University of Islamic Sciences, a dining hall for pilgrims, vast prayer halls, and other buildings.

This complex is the center of tourism in Iran. The shrine itself covers an area of 267,079m2 while the seven courtyards which surround it cover an area of 331,578m2 - totaling 598,657 m2 (6,443,890 sq ft).

In 818 Imam Reza was murdered by Al-Ma'mun and was buried beside the grave of Harun. After this event this place was called as Mashhad al-Rida (the place of martyrdom of Ali al-Rida). Shias and sunnis started visiting there for pilgrimage of his grave. By the end of the 9th century a dome was built on the grave and many buildings and Bazaars sprang up around it. During more than millennium it has been devastated and reconstructed several times.

In 993 the holy shrine was ruined by Saboktakin, a Ghaznavid king. However in 1009 his son Sultan Mahmood Ghaznavi ordered the shrine to be repaired and expanded. About 1150 Sultan Sanjar, a Seljuq king, renovated the sanctuary and added new buildings after miraculous healing of his son in the shrine. Later Sultan Muhammad Khodabande, an Ilkhanate king, who converted to Shiism renovated the holy shrine about 1310. The celebrated Muslim traveler Ibn Battuta visited Mashhad in 1333 and reported that it was a large town with abundant fruit trees, streams and mills. A great dome of elegant construction surmounts the noble mausoleum, the walls being decorated with colored tiles. Opposite the tomb of the Imam is the tomb of Caliph Harun al-Rashid, which is surmounted by a platform bearing chandeliers.

Lord SHIVA HQ Live Wallpaper

Hobbypoint.in
May Lord Shiva Bless you on this Shivaratri

This is a beautiful high quality live wallpaper of God Shiva Shankar. It features Shivji, Parvati, Shivaling with shower of animated snow, flowers, diya and leaves.

Shivji is one of the trinity of gods in Hinduism, known as the Trimurthi. The three main gods are Vishnu, Brahma and Shivji. These gods represent, respectively, creation, maintenance and destruction. Shivji is also known as Shiva. The "ji" is added to the end of the name to designate respect. There are innumerable manifestations of Shivji. These forms arose at different stages in Indian history, and now form the mythology surrounding Lord Shiva.

"Om Namah Shivaya!" - All through the day the devotees keep severe fast, chant the sacred Panchakshara mantra "Om Namah Shivaya", make offerings of flowers and incense to the Lord amidst ringing of temple bells. They maintain long vigils during the night, keeping awake to listen to stories, hymns and songs. The fast is broken only the next morning, after the nightlong worship. In Kashmir, the festival is held for 15 days. The 13th day is observed as a day of fast followed by a family feast.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji LWP

Hobbypoint.in
This is a beautiful high quality live wallpaper of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. It features Lord Gobind Singh, Guru Nanak and Amritsar Temple with shower of animated flowers, diyas and leaves.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji was the 10th Sikh Guru of Nanak. He was born at Patna, Bihar, India, on December 22, 1666. His birthday sometimes falls either in December or January or even both months in the Gregorian calendar. The annual celebration of the Guru’s birthday is based on the Nanakshahi calendar.

Guru Gobind Singh was the son of Guru Tegh Bahadur, who gave his life to protect religious freedom. He succeeded his father when he became a Guru at nine years of age. Guru Gobind Singh’s teachings have a big impact on Sikhs. Under Guru Gobind Singh’s guidance and inspiration, the Khalsa followed a strict moral code and spiritual discipline. It was through his courage that the people rose against the oppression of the Mughal ruler in India at the time. Aside from being a spiritual and a military leader Guru Gobind Singh was also a gifted writer who penned a large body of literary work. Before his death in 1708, he declared the Guru Granth Sahib, which is Sikhism’s Holy Scripture to be the permanent Sikh Guru.

In his lifetime, he stood against the Mughal Rulers and fought against injustice. In 1699, Guru Gobind Singh took five men from the lower caste of society and baptized them as His Five Beloveds, endowing them with great courage and a devotion to God. It was his dedication to God, his fearlessness and his desire to protect the people from being oppressed that led Guru Gobind Singh to establish the Khalsa, a military force of saint-soldiers which he baptized.

Guru Nanak Magic Touch LWP

Hobbypoint.in
This is a beautiful high quality live wallpaper of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, just touch on the screen, shower of leaves and flowers will fall on Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Golden Temple.

Lord Ayyappan or simply Ayyappa (also spelled as Ayappa) is a popular Hindu deity worshiped mainly in South India. Ayyaappa is believed to be born out of the union between Lord Shiva and the mythical enchantress Mohini, who is regarded as an avatar of Lord Vishnu. Therefore, Ayyappa is also known as 'Hariharan Puthiran' or 'Hariharputhra,' which literally means the son of both 'Hari' or Vishnu and 'Haran' or Shiva.

The most famous Ayyappa shrine in India is the one at Sabarimala with over 50 million devotees worshipping every year. He is worshipped with different names as Dharmasasta, Hariharasutan, Manikandan, Sathanar, Sastan, (from Sanskrit Sasta), Ayyanar and Bhutanathan.

The asura princess Mahishi was burning up with anger at the dirty trick the gods had pulled on her brother, the asura king Mahishasura. As Mahishasura was blessed with invulnerability to all men, the gods had sent goddess Durga, to fight and kill him. Thus, Mahishi began performing a fearsome set of austerities, and pleased the creator god Brahma. He granted her the boon of ruling the universe and being invulnerable except to a being that had the combined strength of both Shiva and Vishnu. Since such a person did not exist, she thought she was safe and began conquered and plundered the world.

The gods implored Shiva and Vishnu to save them from this catastrophe. Vishnu found a possible solution to the problem. When Vishnu had taken on the Kurma Avatar, he also had to manifest himself as Mohini, the enchantress, to save the nectar of immortality from the demons who were not willing to share it with the gods. If he became Mohini again, then the female Mohini and the male Shiva could have the divine child who would combine their powers and beat Mahishi.

Durga Sherawali Live Wallpaper

Hobbypoint.in
This is a beautiful high quality live wallpaper of Durga Sherawali. It features Goddess Durga Maa with shower of animated flowers, diyas and leaves.

Maa Durga Sherawali is being worshipped for time immemorial with special mentions in religious scriptures such as the Vedas. She is the epitome of Shakti and righteousness. Her devotees believe that she harbors the combined energies of all the Gods and can protect them all evil.

Although Durga Puja is mainly associated in some States of India with the slaying of the demon Mahisasura, there are other festivities and symbolism associated with the worship of this Goddess. This legend says that Goddess Durga took the form of Chandi specially to slay the demon Mahisasura. Because of the popularity of this legend, Goddess Durga is depicted sitting on a lion or tiger and slaying the demon with a spear or trident.

According to another legend, Goddess’s Navratri Puja is symbolic of her coming from her husband, Shiva’s house, to Earth to visit her family. The start of the Durga Puja is also known as the awakening of the Goddess and special chants and shlokas are used to invoke her. The Goddess is seen with all her children – Ganesha, Kartikeya, Saraswati and Lakshmi. After the nine days, Goddess Durga leaves for her husband’s abode to the Kailash Mountains and is bid farewell with much sorrow by her devotees.

Because of these legends, the image of Goddess is displayed in slightly different forms throughout India. The ancient idols at the temples also depict the Goddess with four or ten arms, riding a lion or seated on a lotus and holding weapons and a lotus or a rosary in her hands. The image of the Goddess also varies with her different appellations.

The shrine of Vaishno Devi, the Mother Goddess, popularly called as Mata Rani and Sherawali Mata, is one of the pilgrimage destinations that are thronged by millions of Indians throughout the year. The shrine is situated in the foothills of Himalayas in Jammu. It is said that the one who comes to the doorstep of Vaishno Devi, the manifestation of Goddess Shakti never goes empty handed. The legend goes that the goddess assumed the human form to attain her destiny of merging with lord Vishnu. She was born as Vaishnavi, the human form of Shakti, into the house hold of a poor Brahman. As she grew up she gained a lot of knowledge, and even surpassed her teachers. One such saint named Bhairon Nath grew envious of her and decided to kill her. When she was being chased by this demon, the Goddess took to the holy cave as her home after slaying Bhairon Nath. Bhairon Nath was absolved of his sins before dying and the Kind Goddess gave him a dying wish that her devotees would pay a dedicated visit to his temple as well and then only their Yatra will be fruitful.

But actually Kali brings the death of the ego. Kali is considered a form of mother too Hence, Kali is considered the goddess of time and change. Although sometimes presented as dark and violent, She is assumed as figure of her eradication.

Kali is represented as the consort of Lord Shiva, on whose body she is often seen standing. She is associated with many other Hindu goddesses like Durga, Bhadrakali, Sati, Rudrani, Parvati and Chamunda.

Kali is strongly associated with Shiva, Lord of death (Kal). Maa Kali is like God Shiva because both of them are the destroyers of evil forces. Goddess Kali has four arms and hands depicting her immense strength. In two of her hands, she holds a sword and a fresh severed head, representing a great battle in which she defeated the demon Raktabija. The other two hands are there to bless her true devotees, suggesting that they will be saved as she will guide them here and in the hereafter.

Kali wears a garland made of 52 skulls and a skirt made of dismembered arms because the ego comes out of identification with the body. It suggests that physical body is false and spirit is the only reality. Her black or sometimes dark blue skin represents the womb of the unmanifest from which all of creation is born and into which all of creation will ultimately return.

Goddess Kali is seen standing with her one feet on Lord Shiva who is pure formless awareness Sat-Chit-Ananda (being-consciousness-bliss) while Kali represents "form" eternally sustained by the underpinning of pure awareness
