PictureThis is great for quick plant identification but that’s only the beginning. You can use the app to organize your garden, keep plants healthy, and catch problems early. These tips show how to leverage the app’s features to build a healthier, more organized garden — a perfect way to celebrate National Gardening Day.

When PictureThis identifies a plant, you don’t just see the name (along with its Latin classification). You’ll also access a full description packed with info and care tips. Or you can use the app to identify weeds, invasive species, and other growth you might not want in your yard.

As you identify plants, you can save notes and photos (or even inspirations from the PictureThis database) by tapping “Add to My Garden.” Over time, you’ll compile a detailed library of everything you’re growing to stay organized, track progress, and give each plant the attention it needs.

After you’ve added a plant to My Garden, tap it to see a full set of easy-to-follow care instructions. You’ll find tips on watering, light, soil, fertilizing, and pruning – plus the option to turn on custom reminders so you never miss a task.

If your peace lily has brown spots, you can tap “Diagnose” and snap a close-up. The app scans for signs of pests, disease, or stress and suggests how to fix the problem, like improving air circulation, using a fungicide, or watering at the roots instead of overhead.
