What’s it about?
Take the thrill of the hunt on the go in Monster Hunter Now. From the creators of Pokémon Go, this monster-hunting adventure takes place between the real and virtual world, your phone acting as a portal into the action.
Explore the habitats of your neighborhood or travel to new places and take down powerful monsters from the Monster Hunter universe. Go solo or roll with a team of local hunters in thrilling hunts and exciting combat.
Why’s it interesting?
Monster Hunter Now’s combat is quick, fun, and rewarding. You’re given 75 seconds to fell the beasts you encounter, but with quick reactions and strong weapons, most can be cleared in a fraction of the time. If armor and weapon upgrades aren’t enough to turn the tide solo, try recruiting local hunters to give you an edge and take on group hunts as a team.
For combat, tap the screen to perform damaging combos, or dash and dodge out of harm's way with a well-timed swipe. Monsters will glow red when preparing to attack, and executing a last-minute dodge will reward you with a powerful counter. But be careful, healing items are limited and running out can be a problem when facing higher-level monsters.
What else should I know?
Different monsters will spawn depending on where you are in the real world thanks to the game's distinct habitats. Forests play host to many lizard-like wyverns, while deserts see more wingdrakes circling overhead.
If you don’t feel like seeking out monsters in every area while going about your day, your Palico partner, Felyne, can mark monsters for you to hunt later – even while the app is closed. These Palico Paintballs let you hunt tagged monsters from any location. However, they only keep a monster marked for a limited time.
If that wasn’t feature-packed enough for you, there are also urgent quests that appear as you progress through the story. These quests let you immediately hunt powerful monsters. It’s up to you to defeat them, complete quests, and raise your Hunter Rank to uncover the secret of why the Monster Hunter world has fused with ours.
