Starter tips for Solo Leveling: Arise

Solo Leveling: Arise tells the story of Sung Jinwoo as he delves into dungeons and fights frightening beasts, in a world where video game mechanics are a part of life.
Making your way through Jinwoo's story means improving his skills to battle dangerous creatures, chasing loot to build his strength, and recruiting hunters to fight alongside him. These tips will help you get started on your journey to level up Jinwoo.

Unlock activities through quests

Your primary goal at the beginning of Solo Leveling: Arise is to work through story quests to power up Jinwoo. These give you experience points, materials, new activities and features, as well as narratives about Jinwoo's journey and other hunters’. Make completing story quests your focus whenever possible to unlock other elements of the game as quickly as you can.

Collect Activity Funds in the lobby

The lobby is a place for finding information and connecting to activities like events. It's also where you'll find your Activity Funds, a stockpile of resources and experience points that slowly increase over time. You'll want to grab these daily, because once the stockpile is full, resources stop accumulating. You'll get all sorts of useful things, so don't forget to collect them.

Find new characters in side chapters

As you advance through the story campaign, you may notice that some story chapters have side branches. These side chapters expand on the main story, showing events from the perspectives of other characters. Don’t overlook them – they also give you a chance to play as other hunters you might not have unlocked yet, while offering rewards and experience points when completed.

Complete Growth Missions

Growth Missions can be very helpful to level up faster early in the game. These are objectives that you can access from a tab that appears at the top of your screen. Growth Missions give you rewards for engaging with different elements, like clearing gates or enhancing artifacts. It’s a good idea to complete them quickly to claim valuable items, including a Super Special Rare (SSR) hunter.

Don't forget to grab rewards

Each mission provides rewards as you complete it, but you'll notice that there are also bonus objectives in each one, listed on the left side of your screen. As you progress through story chapters, completing those extra objectives can give you additional Custom Draw Tickets.
These are easy to miss. You get two tickets for completing all extra objectives throughout an entire chapter, and five tickets for completing every mission in a chapter, including story missions. You’ll find them at the top of each chapter's mission list, so be sure to tap on them before you move on.

Use Auto to complete easy fights

You’ll encounter a lot of battles throughout Solo Leveling: Arise, and sometimes, you'll be overpowered for them. If you'd rather skip manually executing these fights, use the Auto mode at the top of the screen. This lets you decide whether you want your characters to fight on their own or if you'd like to control them yourself.
Auto is a handy way to get through missions quickly, especially if you're strong enough that they won't present much challenge. There's also a Semi-Auto mode if you want a little help performing basic attacks while selecting your own abilities.

Level up Jinwoo to raise your power

You'll unlock other characters as you play, but their power is linked to Jinwoo’s level. As he gets stronger, you'll want to keep an eye on your hunters, artifacts, and weapons, as they can all be leveled up, too.
Improving your characters and gear increases your Total Power, which determines whether you can beat tougher enemies or finish chapters as they become available. Just like Jinwoo, you can also outfit your other hunters with the best weapons and artifacts. Keep leveling them up to maintain a high power rating.
