Why we love this
  1. 1This hyper-cute platformer marries simple, classic-style platforming with a fresh, colorful aesthetic
  2. 2No stress: Low difficulty and dreamy, chilled-out music makes this a breeze to relax with
  3. 3If you’d like an extra challenge, try seeking out hidden areas for additional coins
Swim with fish, hitch a ride on a drone, or propel yourself from one cannon to another as you journey across a colorful world to find your kidnapped sister. We loved the hidden areas and unlockable characters (from a skeleton or cowboy to Hello Kitty), though the difficulty doesn’t rise much – this is better for a cute experience than testing your reflexes.

Why we love this
  1. 1A super adorable 3D platformer in which, yes, everything is cube-shaped
  2. 2Bounce your way through over 40 levels, spanning five themed worlds (and a final “secret” world)
  3. 3We’ll never get tired of jumping on enormous flowers or off the backs of adorable, giant bees
With cheerful visuals, blippy sound effects, and oh-so-much bouncing on monsters’ heads, Suzy Cube is lovingly inspired by classic console platformers – but takes the staple gameplay further with seriously creative jumping puzzles. Especially inquisitive explorers just may stumble upon hidden timed challenges.

Why we love this
  1. 1This retro action platformer pairs perfectly with RPG-style loot collecting
  2. 2Collectible gear actually changes the way your character looks, in addition to providing stat boosts
  3. 3Want a change of pace? Try bonus levels, or see how long you last in survival mode
With customizable characters, lots of top-notch gear to collect, and a plethora of loot-filled secret areas to uncover, this medieval-themed game is great for players who like a dash of role-playing with their platforming. A fun, gothic-inspired atmosphere rounds out the package, though the gore can be over-the-top.

Why we love this
  1. 1Test your timing and reflexes with this hardcore, super-precise runner
  2. 2Ten worlds span adorable scenery including forests, snowy landscapes, and more
  3. 3Cheerful music reminds us of old-school platformers while still feeling modern
Don’t let the cute pixel bunny fool you: This fast-paced platformer will seriously test your skills. You’ll collect carrots to revive yourself with (should you die miserably in a pit of spikes), but the paid unlock for unlimited lives is worth the price: You may find yourself repeating levels often without it.

Why we love this
  1. 1Throw shurikens, elude traps, and do other ninja-like things in this RPG-inspired platformer
  2. 2Lose yourself in gorgeously detailed settings such as bamboo forests and graveyards
  3. 3The purchasable costumes are purely cosmetic but pretty hilarious (we love “Golden Sexy”)
The plot’s pretty thin, but Ninja Arashi is really all about sleek platforming and breathtaking silhouetted visuals. Wide-ranging scenery will keep you motivated as the difficulty (and the number of bloodied spike traps) increases. Keep in mind that unless you watch an ad or spend some hard-earned in-game currency, you’ll only get three tries per level.
