About this audiobook

This is a book for our times. It is for leaders, coaches and other practitioners who are searching for inspiration as they reflect on their leadership experiences and practice.
It is a collection of fifty two short pieces, written to invite you to connect with similar moments in your own life and work and to consider them more probingly. The book is meant to be read slowly – it is a written 'thought for the week'.
The narratives are prompted by the author's personal experiences and by thought-provoking themes brought to her attention by her executive coaching clients or by events in the world.
Many of them highlight the 'gap' between our leadership aspirations and our ability to live up to them, and gently challenge the reader to hold themselves to account and to tackle this disparity.
Throughout the book, readers are encouraged to make contact with their finest leadership spirit, and to anchor their choices in it.

About the author

Amanda lives in the Cairngorms National Park in Scotland. It's a wild and beautiful landscape in which she loves to walk - an activity that offers time and space for creative reflection.
She is an executive coach, coach supervisor and T'ai Chi practitioner. In all her work, she supports others to engage in more fruitful conversations by embodying the practices of dialogue. This is the focus of the first book, Pause for Breath, which gained a Silver Nautilus Award in 2012 in the category of Conscious Business and Leadership.
She is committed to inspiring leaders, coaches and other practitioners to create breathing spaces in their working lives in order to pause and reflect. This is the focus of her second book, Weekly Leadership Contemplations, a collection of short pieces and accompanying contemplation questions. She continues to post similar articles on LinkedIn and if you have enjoyed this audio book, you can find her new work there.
She is also working on her third book in which she explores how, in a world that seems increasingly polarised, we might handle difference more skilfully. As in all her writing, she will be encouraging readers to reflect on their experiences and notice the gaps between their intentions and how things play out. With this insight, she hopes to invite them to change their practice.
