A very detailed and comprehensive summary of how to sell more books in today's tricky market. Dale provides many avenues and options (outside of Amazon) as well as gives his honest assessment of various promotional strategies - what has worked for him, and what hasn't. The audiobook is neatly organized into chapters and is highly listenable and I enjoyed it.

Dale is a smart guy that's been in the trenches. He doesn't pull punches. "Go big or go home" is one of his pieces of advice. But he doesn't just give out amorphous generalities, he drills down and gives sound, clear, honest and at times brutal advice that some need to hear; from dealing with Amazon to social media to having your own website as a back up. For the serious self-publisher that is wandering around wondering which way to go, Promotional Strategies lays out a pretty good road map on the course to take. Dale L Roberts is a wonderful and well-established Self Publishing expert who has taken the basics of book marketing and promotion and wrote a straightforward "How To" book to help you get it done. As a new author, I have spent the last 6 months trying to learn most of the things in this book. I kinda wished he worked faster. I could have saved a lot of time. But now, I have an easy reference book to use when wanting to review which websites to visit and what to do to build my author business. Dale has many communication channels (YouTube, Podcast, Email, Twitter, Facebook, Twitch, Discord, Etc, that provide tons of free content. He is also very generous to recommend other authors with their own YouTube channels and podcasts to learn more things for free. Besides this audiobook, I've also listened to this same book as an ebook. Dale self-narrates, and he does a great job. There's nothing like listening to an author narrate his own book with the emphasis on the words where he wants them to be. Dale is very engaging and entertaining when reading, and the book seemed to breeze by. So I'm glad I have the book in both formats. I can repeatedly listen to drive the lessons home, and I have a pdf download that Dale provided to reference and look things up that are specifically mentioned in the audiobook. The ebook is really well laid out and easy to read. The Reference Section in the back is a killer. Disclaimer: I received a free ARC of ‘Promotional Strategies for books: How to Market & Promote Your Book by Dale L. Roberts, But I would not gush over this book if it were not good. I've read some other author's ARC books that were real stinkers. Dale's are first class.
