probably the best in the series. The authors past military experience and knowledge really shine through here. Everything hits just as it should. the intense scenes had my heart rate going and the emotional/sad points made my eyes water thinking about my family in his situation. Amazing story just like every one of his books in the series. If you guys enjoyed the TV show then you'll absolutely love the book because it's better. They followed the same overarching concepts and plot points in the show, but there's just more that you can do in a book. Also, the narrator is one of my favorites. Amazing job!!

Just perfect. He uses real world experience to tell an amazingly thought out and well researched story of revenge, growth, and love. Fair warning: he is not afraid to go there. These are stories that will force you to confront the absolute worst parts of humanity, but it's all nessasary to make a meaningful story to the reader and not just another thriller. Every book better than the last I can't wait to see what else he has in store.

Phenomenal book! No other book has made me feel so engaged as this one. I found myself many times half in tears throughout listening to this book. Absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series myself! My only notes about this audiobook reading is that I wish they had a woman read the parts of female characters instead of making this man attempt to sound feminine. As for the book I have no notes, Jack Carr you've done an amazing job in creating this art and I cannot wait to dive into the rest of the series.

About the author

Jack Carr is a former Navy SEAL who led special operations teams as a team leader, platoon commander, troop commander, and task unit commander. Over his twenty years in Naval Special Warfare, he transitioned from an enlisted SEAL sniper to a junior officer leading assault and sniper teams in Iraq and Afghanistan, to a platoon commander practicing counterinsurgency in the southern Philippines, to commanding a special operations task unit in the most Iranian influenced section of southern Iraq throughout the tumultuous drawdown of US Forces. Jack retired from active duty in 2016 and lives with his wife and three children in Park City, Utah.
