About this audiobook

Four siblings. Three prophecies. A world of magic.

Cordelia Bant has a secret: she’s a siren, a magical creature created to sustain the life force of the fae. But what can she do when the faeries she cares about most are trapped on an island full of iron?

Her siren brother Thomas leads a carefree life — that is, until fate reunites him with a long-lost love. But when political forces threaten to tear them apart again, they flee to the mage haven of Australia ...

Meanwhile, their sisters Amy and Mary live normal lives in America, unaware of the sirenic power that lies latent in their blood. Amy works as a neurosurgeon — but when she invents a surgical procedure that allows mundanes to see magic, she discovers that she’s been manipulated into setting off the next mage war.

Mary is a retired opera singer whose first priority is her family. But her faith in her siblings is shaken when Thomas reveals a long-held family secret, causing her ordinary life to shatter apart.

Join the Bant family as they navigate treacherous political waters, cryptic prophecies, and what it truly means to be a family.

Set in a modern world and led by a strong cast of female characters, Sirens Unbound is the bestselling first installment in the Fifth Mage War Series.

About the author

An avid sf/fantasy reader, Laura Engelhardt writes the kind of book she likes to read: fantasy with intricate worlds and complex characters facing moral dilemmas. She started writing plays in college, then moved to Germany, where she continued to write while teaching ESL to executives. After moving back to the U.S., she supported her playwriting by teaching ballroom dance and working retail. Deciding that living in her parents' attic wasn't for her, Laura went to law school and then spent the next seventeen years as a lawyer and compliance officer in New York City. In 2017, she quit Wall Street and began helping people resolve disputes as a mediator and arbitrator. She now lives in New Jersey with her family. Brandy Hussa has always been passionate about stories and storytelling. She majored in English Literature and Theatre in college and spent her young adulthood following a variety of careers while performing in local theaters in the evening. She holds a Master's in Teaching (Elementary Ed.) and has worked as an educator in a variety of settings, a writer/editor, an actor, a manager of a nonprofit, an oral history collector, and a caregiver. Some of her favorite roles include: Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, Bella in Angel Street, Penelope in See How They Run, Elsa in The Road to Mecca, and Rosemary Fenton in Bullshot Crummond. Audiobook narration is an exciting new venture that blends many of her skills, from text analysis to performance.
