About this audiobook

Enjoy this humorous cozy mystery series with quirky characters by USA Today best selling author Carly Winter…

Hiding her true identity is difficult… but not as hard as catching a killer.

As Samantha Jones, a former daytime television star, tries to assimilate into the small community of Heywood, her life is upended when her friend, Gina, is arrested for murdering her abusive ex-husband. Even though every shred of evidence points at Gina being the true killer, Sam can’t believe her friend would murder one of the most hated men in town.

As her search for the real killer eventually peters out and Sam’s ready to declare Gina guilty, a turn of events leads her down an unexpected path.

But will this path lead Sam to the real killer, or will an innocent person rot in prison for the rest of her life?

If you love small towns, funny characters, and cozy mysteries with second chances, then this contemporary cozy mystery series is for you!

I enjoyed this second book in the Heywood Herbalist series. The audiobook was great, with Nicole Scott doing a fantastic job. Sam Jones is amazing, settling into small-town life, but her friendships are tested. Annabelle is hilarious and loyal, while the sheriff is the worst—I hope she gets replaced! I recommend this cozy mystery series for a light, fun read. Already started book 3!

Sam, a former soap star hiding in a small town, is shocked when her new best friend, Gina, is arrested for the murder of her no-good ex-husband. The sheriff is convinced that Gina is guilty but Sam isn't convinced. It's up to her and her new friends to follow the clues and find the real murderer. This is a light, entertaining, cozy mystery with some quirky characters in quiet small town. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
