Marjory Kaptanoglu is an award-winning screenwriter and novelist. The films based on her short scripts were selected to screen at international film festivals, including Nashville, Woodstock, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Cinequest. Her screenplays have won first place awards from the Slamdance, Cynosure, Harlem Film Festival, Table Read My Screenplay, and International Horror & Sci-fi Film Festival screenwriting contests and been recognized by the Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting. Her YA fantasy debut novel, DREADMARROW THIEF, was a winner in the Self-Published Book Awards and Wishing Shelf Book Awards. Her second and third novels, LAST GIRL STANDING (YA scifi) and INVADER (scifi), were released in 2019 to highly positive reviews from Kirkus and Midwest Book Review. She has appeared as a speaker and panelist at schools, writing conferences, and film festivals, most recently YANovCon, BayCon, and SpikeCon in 2019. She was named 2019 Literary Exhibitor of the Year by the California Writer's Club / San Mateo County Fair. Marjory graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in English.
