About this audiobook

After a series of suspicious explosions at various bauxite mining operations around the world, the global industry comes to a standstill. An intern from the head office of a major multinational corporation suspects her employer is trying to control the global Aluminium industry. With mining sites located predominantly in the Caribbean & Africa, it becomes apparent the corporation will strive to succeed without any regard for their workers or communities who live where bauxite mining must take place. Eventually leaders from these bauxite producing countries decide to work together to fight neo-colonial oppression by forming a co-operative business cartel, only to face the true face of the corporation, which is more sinister than anyone expected.
“Mancala” is a fictional political thriller written and produced by Obediya Jones-Darrell about the impact of the mining industry on environmental justice for workers and people throughout the Caribbean & Africa. With themes that transcend borders and cultures, “Mancala” is a story of resistance and strength that rings true for any community with a valuable natural resource. This audiobook is performed by a full cast with original music composition and sound design by Obediya Jones-Darrell.
