This was the first auto book I've ever listened too and was really surprised at how much I liked it and how it made me happy to actually have to drive. I really liked the story , the slow burn romance and the cliffhanger at the end makes me want to get Book 2. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the way the characters talked kinda drove me nuts and I felt like I was listening more to characters based in high school vs college.

The writing is decent. Characters don't have too much depth and don't show too much growth. The entire plot is mixing Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, and His Dark Materials. Honestly, what carried this audiobook, for me, was the narration. I don't dislike this book, it just isn't one I'm obsessing over. Overall, it's a fun yet predictable read...

i thought it was interesting and different from the run of the mill stuff. However, I really DIDN'T care for how often Liam dropped the F-bomb. it didn't enhance the story, in fact it detracted from it. Liam doesn't need this verbage for his character to be strong.
