About this audiobook

This is not a traditional audiobook.

This is a fully character-voiced audiobook, where each major character has their own distinct voice, personality, and emotional presence. Dialogue doesn’t blend together. Characters don’t sound interchangeable. You always know who’s speaking—and more importantly, you feel what they’re feeling.

Think a movie in book form: multiple performers, authentic emotion, and immersive storytelling that pulls you into their world instead of reminding you that you’re listening to a recording.

This isn’t background noise.

It’s storytelling you experience.

Welcome to The Consortium.

They erased her past. But they can't control her future.

When a young woman is found battered and silent in a city alley, seasoned detective Drake senses something far more sinister than a simple abduction. She doesn't speak. She doesn't react. Her body is covered in scars, and her prints don’t exist. But she does have a name – Amelia – and the man arrested with her claims to be her Keeper.

What begins as a bizarre case quickly spirals into a horrifying revelation: a secret organization known as The Consortium has operated in the shadows for over a century, abducting the forgotten and the vulnerable to perform unspeakable experiments. Their goal? To create a workforce of obedient, broken minds – and Amelia was one of them.

As Drake and his partner Shane dig deeper into the truth, they uncover a chilling web of manipulation, control, and torture so pervasive, even death is seen as release. But Amelia may be more than just another victim. She may be the key to exposing The Consortium – and tearing their empire apart from within.

Dark. Gripping. Unforgettable. The Consortium: Genesis is the haunting first installment of a trilogy that explores what it means to survive when your mind is not your own … and how one spark of resistance can ignite a war.

"The Consortium – Genesis" by B.A. Chapman is the perfect blend of psychological horror and futuristic dystopian science fiction. The story centers around Amelia, a young woman forced into a secretive organization that conducts horrifying human experiments. The novel explores themes power, control, and the darker side of scientific ambition, creating an intense and disturbing atmosphere. A very compelling, edge-of-your-seat read!

I listened to this book as an AI-narrated audiobook. This was a first, both listening to an audiobook, but also listening to AI narration. The narration for me was easy to follow, just lacked the natural emotional nuances of a human. Anyone who is curious like me about AI narration, I also think would find this experience joyful. The story itself, I enjoyed a lot. It maintained mystery and suspense throughout the book. I thought the idea of unethical human experimentation was interesting.

This was an interesting read. It takes you through the history that laws were created in order to protect the people that were being used as test subjects, illegally by crazy scientists. It's crazy how some projects can be moved underground while taking place publicly.

About the author

The Consortium is the author's debut book. It is not the only story she has written, but it is her first full-length novel to be published. She has a deep love of fiction and adores blended genres as it tends to keep things interesting. She hails from Texas and has been fortunate enough to have never run into any members of The Consortium (at least, not to her knowledge).
