Serenity is the experience of those who discover 12 Step's Higher Power. God isn't a "mystery" - He is a daily experience. We admit to not knowing "How It Works". But, we are assured that HE does Work! Dennis is "Recovering"/"Recovered"person who is experiencing God day by-day for over 30 years.
For School Psychologists/Counselors/Pastors Your life is YOURS - you have the right to make the rules in your own Sandbox. People invade, intrude, impose - consciously or accidentally. It happens less if you are aware of your own rules for your own space - to recognize who are the aggressor, what they are doing to/at you - most importantly - how you are going to respond for your own good (and theirs!)
We ALL psst in the Sandbox of others. Some of us learn to play nicely on our own. Some must be taught. I must play by YOUR rules in YOUR Sandbox. I change or leave. So simple!
CAUTION: This book will only be comprehended by those BEING abused - less likely by the abuser (unless they have the capacity to be honest). It is less likely to be grasped by "professionals" who try to "out-think" the simplicity of EMPOWERMENT.
We want often what we have SOMETIMES - those moments when the child is cooperating with the Steadfast Attitude Father. This Attitude grew out of Dennis' work all his professional life with troubled and troubling children and youth - including teaching child psychology at colleges and public schools - and being a school psychologist. His books have been used by over a million readers in schools and counseling centers across the country for over 35 years.
Assists in decisions about goals, life-styles, questions to ask GuidanceCounselors, investigating interesting courses and returning to school - "SPIN-IN" not "Drop-Out"
The most important interesting person to each of us is one's Self. This is especially true with youth in trouble - or any young adult seeking to challenge life with a better set of personal tools for living successfully. Listen To Me - I Have Something to Say (Books I and II) suggests that most troubles come from a person having a deep conflict. They either don't know how-to express it - or they can't find someone to express it to.
Manage Life provides over 90 helpful real-life activities to: 1. Understand Yourself, 2. Relate to Others, 3. Interact with Society and the World.
NOW INCLUDES LEADER'S MANUAL.
(I consider this book a "Yes, You can!" - more than "How-to")
Why? Three friends saw my creations, then built their own beautiful rustic homes.) Bonus: a log house built by a friend from trees just above the cabin. And a home I re-built and lived in - and a 46' wooden sailboat I restored. I continue to use rustic techniques - my main tool being the tiny old Stihl .013.
"Rats?" is the Year 2009 of actual/UN-edited e-mails between Dennis in Ohio and Bob in Florida. This exchange suggests that life- changing struggles often begin with nightly visits. You MAY NOT doubt now - Life Goes On!
All this replaced by Acceptance and Submission to a Higher Power - and a warped mind that will NOT stop creating.
I saw this as being manipulative - and as unsatisfying as it is artificial. I have pondered the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John - the actual words and stories of Jesus' life as a man.
I began to see how a person can BE as he/she sojourns this world . We face the same challenges that Jesus dealt with in his lifetime - How to achieve Fun, Enjoyment, Satisfaction, Growth and Love. People and circumstances have not changed. Now That I Know Who I Am - Where Do I Put Me? deal with life-challenges - how persons think and behave.
Helpful in spiritual development groups, guidance and crisis
counseling, sermon preparations, etc.
Me and Others has been a state-adopted Work-A-Text in creative writing, social studies, psychology and career exploration classes. The emphasis is on INTER-dependence.

This book "listens"! The most important interesting person to each of us is one's Self. This is especially true with youth in trouble - or any young adult seeking to challenge life with a better set of personal tools for living successfully.

Intrinsic Bowling - Beyond "The Zone" Into The Inner Bowler Dennis Hooker and Palmer Fallgren - For Beginning to Advanced Bowlers. Dennis and Palmer have taken the mental game to a new, more workable level - that of the Inner Bowler. Past what many have called "The Zone" - into a deeper, more satisfying space.
Palmer was Olympic Bowling Coach for Team USA , a pro on tour and TV, and a consultant for Brunswick. Dennis is a retired counselor, hypnotherapist, psychologist and writer of books used by more than 1 million youth. He now knocks over 20 - 40 more pins per game than before Let It Go!
Each of us knows - intuitively - how-to Let Go! of the ball in a way to get strikes. The wonderful thing about this program is the simplicity of it! It is easy to learn - and very enjoyable and satisfying to "turn it over" to something inside that knows better how-to bowl.
"Palmer Falgren's LET IT GO is a most interesting read. I used it in my advance classes. A great supplemental read to the classics I refered to in another post (Allen's THE MENTAL GAME; Hinitz's FOCUS ON BOWLING; Lasser, Borden, and Edward's BOWLING: The Handbook of Bowling Psychology). This book is different as it reflects the psychology of bowling's most successful hippie, Palmer Falgren. It's functional theme is from the blending of Eastern ( Buddhist/ Taoist) psychology/ philosophy with American naturalism that was derived from the American Counter Culture movement starting with Jack Kerouac's ON THE ROAD Beatnick philosophy/psychology. It is enjoyable and fun."- Gary Parsons
