The Woods Issues
In the woods, Karen, Adrian, and Calder explore the mysterious ruins of a past civilization as Sanami, Ben, and Isaac face off against a threat much scarier than the local fauna. At the school, Maria stokes revolution in the face of Coach Clay’s fascist disciplinary committee.
Following last issue’s harrowing revelations, we catch a glimpse of Bay Point Preparatory High School before the fateful events of October 16, 2013 in this new story arc. On opening night of the school’s rendition of "A Midsummer Night’s Dream," the lives of the students and faculty crossed paths in an almost premonitory way, seeding the various horrors to come.
The swarm has finally arrived, and it’s going to take the combined efforts of both the kids and the mysterious hunters to survive the onslaught. Meanwhile, we take a look at Ben on the night of the play one year ago, and his struggles to both be himself and be happy.
New story arc! Having barely escaped their confrontation with the swarm, the hunters have led Adrian, Karen, Calder and company to their breathtaking home base. But just when they think they may have found answers to what brought them to this alien world, a horror from the teens’ past rears its ugly head...
The more the crew finds out about the woods, the deeper the mystery gets. With Clay and the Duke teaming up to try and force the school into servitude for the New London army, the kids need to think up a plan to save their peers, and fast. Can they escape New London and make it back to the school in time to warn everyone? And with Adrian uncontrollable and on the loose, no one knows what his next move will be.
Sanami and the Hunters finally reach the school and see the complete state of chaos that has been spawning since their arrival to the planet. Back at New London, Adrian has finally made his arrival. With the army gone, nothing stands in the way of him and the black stone...
New story arc! Bay Point Prep, one year later. The students have survived a year in the Woods, settling into their new roles at Bay Point. Isaac and Ben are together and would be perfectly happy if not for the dreams Isaac has of Adrian and his anger toward Karen for her role in his disappearance. Karen is training to be a Hunter, while Sanami and Maria handle the day-to-day running of the school. Calder is missing. The Black City is still out there, and the students will need to mend the rift that’s grown between them to find it.
Karen goes deeper into the uncharted part of the woods, where even Nigel has never fully explored. He doesn’t know what kind of wildlife she might encounter there, but it becomes clear there are more dangerous things than creatures waiting for her in the wilderness.
