As Batman is preventing a rooftop suicide following the devastating Cataclysm, he spots Mr. Freeze. Following him to an underground tunnel, they encounter Clayface, freed from captivity by the quake. As the man Batman rescued watches, the two villains battle each other--and the Dark Knight.
Batman must run through a gauntlet of dangers on his way to rescue a bunch of socialites trapped by the earthquake for a week. When he arrives, he discovers just how thin the veneer of civilization can be.
