I have read lots of stories by sex workers describing their lives. The common thing they all say is do not glamorize the life. It's work that is hard and dangerous at times. I read The Happy Hooker in the 1970s then I saw the movie Pretty Woman in 1991. After that, I met real street walkers because I was a young guy experimenting on the edges of life. What a contrast. Women in the sex trade are viewed at different extremes by everyone including the women themselves. Some, like the radical feminists and the religious right, say it's sexual slavery and demeaning towards women, a reflection of a society where men are dominant and use women to serve their sexual ends with a sense of entitlement.
Mood disorders are about feeling way down or way up to the extent that your life is miserable to you. Your emotional state is not stable. Depression includes some or all of the following symptoms; aches anhedonia (loss of pleasure) fatigue feelings of hopelessness lack of initiative loss of appetite negative self-image pains passivity poor concentration poor sleeping sadness Depression comes from external events like losing a job or feeling empty inside because you're not quite aligned with your true nature and true purpose in life. The mental health experts say it could be caused by a neurochemical imbalance in your brain but you create your biochemistry through how you think and live. You can create happiness through what you think and do. Your moods could change seasonally. This is called seasonal affective disorder - SAD. A bipolar disorder is when your depression gives way to an excessive feeling of joy and energy. Such mood swings might happen very quickly.
Within the optical field, there are several specialties. An opthamologist and optometrist are the highest grade of eye technician, doing surgery, removing cataracts, certified to use the excimer laser to cure nearsightedness, etc. One step below that is the optician, the eye technicians who takes eye tests and fits you for glasses and contact lenses among other things. Optometrists diagnose, manage, and treat basic conditions and diseases of the human eye. Their practice consists of eye examinations, diagnosis of problems, and the prescription of corrective lenses. Dispensing opticians fill the prescription that is written by an optometrist. They design, measure, fit and help select frames for their patients. An ophthalmologist is a physician who diagnoses and treats eye diseases. For the brain to interpret the information transmitted along the optic nerve, to blend the two separate images into a single image and to be able to judge distances correctly, the two eyes must work together.
A noble-great-spiritual-esthetic life is a life where you feel full of infinite possibilities and live it out. It's hard to stay inspired all the time. You have to discover your true nature then make a pact with yourself that your life will be nothing more than honoring who you were born to be by nature by releasing that inspired-esthetic-spiritiual-loving energy everyday with gusto and passion for the process but there will be tragedies and hard times. People and pets you love will die. Some will get sick. You will get sick or injured. There might be other hardships like money problems, relationship problems, having a child with a disability, having a child rebel against you, etc. I've gone through some of these trials where I felt like I was dead man walking. Despite how strong, vital and inspired I was for many years, I felt like all of it meant nothing because all you ever have is one moment in time, right now.
Educate yourself about any condition you might have and the treatments from both the Western and holistic points of view. Use both to heal yourself. Like the golden mean, excess in anything is not good for you. Use generic as opposed to brand name drugs to save money. They're drugs whose patent has run out so now anybody can produce them. The original company keeps the right to its brand name so when the doctor writes out your prescription, ask him to write out the generic name of the drug, if applicable as opposed to the brand name which many do, probably because of habit or they get some form of favor from that company. Not all drugs are manufactured in a generic version. The major points of medical drug use are: Know the drug you're using. If it doesn't work, ask for another drug that does the same function. There are many different drugs that treat the same diseases. Follow the dosage instructions. Throw old drugs away.
It's normal to try recreational drugs because people are curious. Most people who use drugs for fun grow out of it. Some keep doing it every once in awhile while others get hooked. I don't know why some people get addicted but I do know that it's easier for someone with money to become an addict than somebody earning a middle class wage because drugs are expensive. The problem with young people under 25 and weak people is that they might not get a second chance. They overdose and die. That's why even experimenting can be dangerous. Marijuana affects short-term memory, impairs the ability to concentrate, inhibits alertness and reaction time making driving dangerous. Cocaine boosts the heart rate while constricting the blood vessels, increasing your chances of having a heart attack or an abnormal heart rhythm.Crack, cocaine can be smoked.
The prevailing wisdom is that you're genetically born as one gender, that's who you are and that's the identity you should develop to fit into your culture, either a manly man or a feminine women but somewhere along the way, there are people who don't fit neatly into the gender they look like and often want to be the opposite gender. The stereotypical characteristics of women are: clinging coy emotional manipulative need other people nurturing The stereotypical characteristics of men are: emotionally childish one-dimensional competitive (with themselves and others) afraid of losing control rational horny domineering Fifty years ago or so, society had strict gender roles. Women became mothers while men went to work. It was overwhelming because everybody played by these rules.
Back in the day if you got a graduate degree in almost anything, you could get a decent job. Companies and organizations hired people with social science master’s degrees because they assumed they could think deep thoughts and express themselves clearly but the mystique of a person with a graduate degree is gone in modern-day society. The internet has made knowledge easily available. The illusion that people with graduate degrees are wise and intelligent is gone because so many people got doctorates who look, talk and act like flakes. I don’t respect graduate degrees anymore unless it’s in a highly technical field. If you got a Phd in sociology, I’m thinking another bullcrapper thinking they know something when if they really did, they’d know their degree and all that stuff they learned about that fake field called sociology is modern-day crap.
The main causes of illness is taking in toxins through processed foods which deplete some nutrients from the body but the worst thing they do is build up in organs and other body parts to form tumors which destroy tissue and could spread as parasitic material to kill you. These poisonous cells in the tumors live off the healthy tissue thereby killing it. There are toxins everywhere like all the wireless waves around, air polluted by carbon monoxide from cars, chlorine in the water you wash your body with, the freon in refrigerators, chemical cleaning solutions on carpets, etc. The body tries to clean itself by getting rid of toxins in the form of extra mucus, fever nausea, diarrhea, headaches, cold or flu symptoms, sneezing, etc. Waste matter is excreted from the rectum through stools, from the bladder through urine, from the lungs through breath, from the pores of the skin through sweat. If there is something wrong with your expulsion system like if you’re constipated, waste stays in your body.
As a kid I was brought up in the Catholic Church. I thought it was a good thing for society to have religious standards but then I realized I have my own natural, inherent moral code inside of me. Some parts of the Bible contradict each other like the jealous God of the Old Testament who suddenly saw the wrong of His ways and became loving in the New Testament which is kinda funny if God is divinely wise. There are many rules in the Old Testament condemning people to death for trivial transgressions. They accepted slavery as a part of normal life in the Old Testament. Who did Cain and Abel marry if they were the children of the first man and woman on Earth?
This is a book to help you quickly find the math and science information you’re looking for at the library, on websites, through publishers who sell books and magazines, organizations, etc. Think of it as my attempt to organize a framework for the worlds of math and science.
Your soul is your essence as a human being. When you were conceived, if you believe in God, He shot a bolt of lightning into you that made you unique and original. He endowed you with gifts, talents and weaknesses that made you who you are or at least who you are spozed to be if you're smart enough to escape the brainwash of the world. If we were created by Nature, the outcome is still the same. I'm no different than the cat I play with every night. I watch him to observe him being himself, following his true nature. He is me in a different form, a living being following his true nature but this is where most of humanity gets off the boat – they don't follow their true natures. Leonardo Da Vinci said vitality and beauty are gifts of nature for those who live according to its laws and he was right. The only true purpose of life is to follow your true nature. All the wise, enlightened people who have ever lived live by this rule.
Generally, there are several ways to get a high school diploma: Going to school regularly during the day. Going to school at night then taking a GED test. Taking mail order/ internet high school courses. Studying on your own and taking the GED test. Take a high school equivalency test through a high school or local board of education and pass it. These are offered at some online high schools. Proving to college administrators that you have life experience and skills learned at work via taking tests which give you credits for college. As an adult, you can possibly enroll in high school with normal students, take night classes, correspondence courses at home or simply study on your own and take the GED tests. Check with the Continuing Education Office of your local Department of Education. A little known way to get your high school diploma is through the National External Diploma Program which doesn't involve any direct instruction.
The education industry is a huge industry. Governments spend loads of money on it. Everybody goes to school to try to better their lives. There are loads of educational products on the market all the way from software to essays for sale. There are some miscellaneous education ideas like clip art, educational videos, shareware, etc. There's a big load of education websites in this book in the Education Websites Master List section. Education books at the library go from #370-#379 or L of the Library of Congress system. Your library has a wealth of information including magazines, audio-visual materials and access to the internet. They might have a separate reference section for college education and test taking books like how to study for the GED, SAT, LSAT, GRE or things like civil service exams. There are some educational libraries at teacher's colleges and colleges that offer the major of Education to people who want to become teachers.
Very simply, all the cells in the bodily organism have a special marker in them which the immune system knows are its own but everything else in the body without this special marker is considered a foreign agent, an enemy which the immune system tries to destroy in order to win this war against toxins and continue to thrive. When the immune system senses large amounts of foreign invaders, it triggers an immune response by producing antibodies which go out, fight these invaders (antigens) and try to destroy them all. When the body’s immune system is weak, it gets confused and sometimes attacks its own healthy body cells because it thinks these cells are foreign invading toxic cells so the body’s immune system is destroying itself. There are a lot of diseases like this like chronic inflammation, chronic fatigue syndrome, lupus, alopecia areata, ankylosing spondylitis, antiphospholipid antibody syndrome, autoimmune skin disorders, Cushing's syndrome, scleroderma, Sjogren's syndrome, etc.
The digestive system uses food to sustain the body, extracting nutrients and energy from it while eliminating the rest. Food is taken in through the mouth, chewed and softened with saliva then swallowed through the throat, going down the esophagus to the stomach. It is then mixed in with hydrochloric acid and various enzymes and slowly digested. It moves through the small intestine where digestive enzymes from the liver and gallbladder continue to digest it. Then it goes into the large intestine where it is further digested and separated into useful fuel and nutrients for the body versus what is not useful which is prepared as waste for elimination. Along the way the food is moved by muscle contractions (peristalsis) while the sphincter muscles temporarily halt the movement of food between parts of the system during processing.
Reading, writing and speaking used to be the purpose of all college education, to create someone who can express themselves clearly and simply. They called him a liberally-educated man, someone who could say what they thought without babbling. Despite all the technical-babble that has swept the world, it is still about your ability to communicate simply and clearly. The late Dr. Jeanne Chall developed the theory that learning about literacy occurs in stages: 1.) Pre-reading; six months to six years: The pre-reading child has some phonological awareness or sensitivity to speech sounds, rhyming and alliteration; recognizes some letters and may link some to the sounds they make; some understanding of books and print. 2.) Initial reading or decoding; first and second grade: The child who is just beginning to read can sound out words one at a time and decode them slowly, carefully and accurately. Most of his attention is devoted to decoding with few mental resources left over for deeper comprehension.
A long time ago, I was clued out about everything. I had to create a map for myself firstly for the academic world that I was part of for awhile then when I decided it was too boring for me, I joined the real world, had to learn about practical knowledge so I created the "People Power" books. I know all about practical and academic knowledge now. The average person doesn't. This book will help you get started. You need the library guidebook too because libraries are still cool. If you’re a floundering idiot in money, go to #332 and find some good, current money books or if you’re looking for a job, go to #331. I know that every year all over the world, there are millions of undergrads starting to get indoctrinated into how to write an academic paper. If you have this book, it might save you a lot of time learning about academia. Basic Reference Information Books about how to do research are at #001.42 or Q180.55 at the library and #021 to #031.
I read a lot of psychobabble and softball articles about the psychology of aging. It's all basically simple and the same: Use it or lose it. The idea is to stay active both by yourself in doing inspired activities and in contact with other people. I can go back to Erik Erickson's archaic theory of eight stages of life from around 1971 which despite all its psychobabble, comes down to one thing: You're either active doing something you feel has meaning and interacting socially and intimately with other people or you're alone in a room somewhere, not doing much of anything, feeling sorry for yourself. One reason I don't like psychobabble is that they make everything a dramatic either-or situation. Most older people aren't intensely active or popular with a big group of people but they don't feel lonely and depressed either. They live adequate, comfortable lives day by day. You don't need some great purpose in life or deep intimate relations with other people.
How do you define sex? Some people say sex is 90% in the brain so regardless of disability, if you still got a brain, you still got sexual ability. Disabled people just have to be more creative in exercising their sexuality. They say men who can’t get an erection can still get horny and even orgasms. Some disabled men say using a vibrator or another masturbation machine will bring them to orgasm which has a twofold purpose; for pleasure and to gather up enough sperm for artificial insemination. Many physical conditions could impose limitations on a couple to prevent a normal sexual relationship. There are injuries, deformities, and recuperations from surgeries. Two partners who love each other have to use the situation to develop new, creative ways to provide sexual satisfaction for each other. Learning these techniques together could be good for the marriage as husband and wife grow together after the mishap. Try to stay intimate.
This book covers my unique view on weight loss and vitality which I would call the esthetic-spiritual flow of life theory. You can’t buy your way to weight-loss. It comes down to the strength in your spirit. All the diet books, exercise equipment, weight-loss programs and diet food in the world is bull next to this one thing. You have to respect yourself highly if you want to lose weight. This is not a technical, physiological book about losing weight or a book about health. There are thousands of those around. If you want some of that basic nutritional information, go to #611-#613 at the library, read some of my other books. Find health cookbooks at #641. This book is about how I stay at a moderate weight regardless of what eat.
The five constituents to increase intelligence or mental acuity according to a TV show I saw are: Healthy diet. Exercise, physical activity. Do challenging things. Seek out new things to interest you. Have love in your life. The way to develop a strong mind is really very simple: concentrate, pay attention and focus on whatever it is you're doing. You must love what you do and try to understand it. Strive to understand the information then organize it in your mind. You must first reduce all the material down into a few meaningful concepts then organize it in as simple a way as possible. Simplicity is the key to everything. Focus on titles, subheadings and keywords such that when one key point comes to mind, it opens the floodgates. More is not necessarily better. Eliminate all the trivial distractions and focus on the main points only. Seek to deeply understand the concept of whatever it is you're doing right off so as to avoid having to go back later to learn it again.
Good foods are mostly natural foods. Bad foods are processed foods. Here are some types of food, good and bad: Grains are good if they're not refined, bleached or sweetened; barley, corn, millet, rice, rye, sorghum, wheat. Raw vegetables are best. Properly cooked vegetables retain some of their nutrients; asparagus, celery, leek, peppers, yam artichoke, chives, lentils, potato, zucchini, beans, collards, lettuce, rutabaga, beets, cucumbers, mushrooms, spinach, beet, greens, dandelion, greens, mustard, greens, squash, broccoli, egg, plant, okra, sweet, potato, brussels, sprout, endives, onion, turnip, cabbage, garlic, parsley, turnip, greens, cauliflower, kale, peas, watercress. Fresh fruits are good raw with the skin on; apple, apricot, avocado, banana, berry, cantaloupe, cherry, currant, fig, grape, grapefruit, honeydew, lemon, lime, nectarine, orange, papaya, peach, pear, pineapple, plum, rhubarb, tangerine, tomato, watermelon.
What is true feminine beauty? As the artist I fancy myself to be, I feel that I know it when I see it. Many women are blessed with natural beauty which has two components as far as I’m concerned: 1.) The face. 2.) The body. In the face, some women have striking looks but if they don’t have beautiful souls it reverberates there. Your resting expression indicates the type of person you are. Over time, this expression becomes your permanent face which is why I can tell who looks happy in a relaxed way versus the girls with anger, sadness or a beef with the world written on their faces. They have scowls on them. Look at yourself in the mirror with no expression on your face. You can see how other people see you. See more at tonykel.com
There are more than 14,000 school districts in the United States. Nearly 50 million students go to approximately 97,000 public elementary and secondary schools. There are approximately 120 000 schools in the United States and 70,000 elementary schools. At least three million teachers are employed in public elementary and secondary schools. The standard grade school curriculum is made up of the following subjects: The Language Arts Reading Writing Listening And Speaking Skills Literature Second language, Spanish, French Mathematics History Geography Physical Science Life Science Earth Science Space Science, Astronomy Art Music Health And Physical Education Industrial Arts for boys Home economics for girls In some high schools, they offer optional courses like computer skills, political science, economics, psychology, calculus, business, typing, etc. Elementary school is basic for reading, writing and arithmetic.
You wake up everyday with x amount of unused potential sexual energy. You have to release it in order to feel anywhere from average to great. If you don't release it, it sits inside of you unused causing misery. Most married couples with kids hardly ever have sex. What a tragedy. All that unused sexual energy inside of you destroying your life and you're too stupid to realize it. What about internet dating? Are endless dates with generic people on dating websites worth the hassle? Is it a big rip-off of time and money or can you meet the wonderful, sweet love of your life online? Are there any honest, kind, sweet, comfortable people left? That's the dream. Can love happen out of the blue when you least expect it, kinda like in a romance novel; some tall, dark, cool, mysterious, noble-looking stranger shows up unexpected on an average day with a sense of joyful exuberance and a look of sweet beauty in his eyes?
This is a book to help you quickly find the information you’re looking for at the library, on websites, through publishers who sell books and magazines, organizations, etc. Think of it as my attempt to organize a framework for the academic world in two books. Book 1 is almost everything. The second book is math and science.
Self-education is reading, writing, thinking and exploring your life for your own motives which could be something like: 1.) A desire to live a fun, great, hedonistic-noble lifestyle. 2.) A driving need to constantly purge your natural energy. 3.) A driving force to change the world in a big way with a big idea. Some self-educated people don't have big ideas and big aspirations but they quietly try to improve the world in their own little ways. It's a fun way to live. Being inspired all the time is the best way to live for the few people who figure out that this is the best life possible. I wrote a book about it called A Free Spirit's Search For Enlightenment. Education doesn't end after formal schooling nor is it necessarily concerned with work-related upgrading. People continue to learn for many reasons among them the search for enlightenment, recreation, fun, practical matters and even go to classes to hope to meet a lover.
The reason to do online learning, at least for a part of your education is that it's much cheaper than attending a college or school fulltime so you can hold down a job while studying from home for at least part of your degree thus avoiding the hassles of attending classes live unless you're young and curious and want the social college-school experience. Some of the benefits of distance education are: Convenience, go at your own pace. Stay home. Available anywhere over the internet. Prices are cheaper for online courses than traditional college courses. Some distance-education programs have an in-class component, particularly ones with labwork or internships. You need basic computer skills. There is teacher interaction over the internet but no face-to-face interaction. There is no social life, no friends, no classmates.
Many American Presidents were Rhodes Scholars. Is this a coincidence? How about the United World Colleges? There have been wealthy and benevolent people in the past who set up schools and programs because they wanted young people to see other cultures, meet other people and develop a united view of humanity. I was an international student. It wasn’t that big of a deal, going from Halifax, Canada to Gainesville, Florida but I did live in the International Student House on University Avenue near NW 4TH St. with a hundred guys from all over the world where I learned that we’re all the same. Countries are just artificial borders. It was a hassle though to do all that paperwork then have to buy medical insurance on top of it. I say if you got the means and the guts, go for it. The Council On International Educational Exchange (CIEE) offers many travel programs, work exchange programs and discount tour packages to students worldwide. They also offer educational tours abroad for groups of adults.
There was a reality TV show about a sex columnist and a matchmaker looking for love. In one scene, the girl's brother was visiting her and he starts off digging right into her. He says she thinks she is Miss Perfect. No guy is good enough. She rejects them all. Maybe there are deep issues like fear of intimacy and/ or sex. The other girl was anorexic and all messed up psychologically. Personally, I thought both girls were over 30 which is bad because a smart guy wants to be with a really young girl with fresh eggs for kids. I thought they looked average even though they thought they were hot. I think they were self-centered. It was all about them. One had a 72 point checklist of the kind of guy she wanted. What do they bring to a relationship? If I see an over-30 years old girl on mental health drugs, smoking a cigarette with colored hair, I know she does not have a strong identity. To me, she's weak. She won't be a good mother.
Pain is the body screaming to the mind saying "Danger, Danger" warning you to either sit still to avoid further injury or to do something about it. The span ranges from localized acute pain for injuries to long-term chronic pain. Pain exists in a relationship between the brain and the body within a complex network of nerves (neurons), hormones and psychological factors. Pain ranges the spectrum from irritating to agonizing. There are some medications and therapies around to help reduce pain sensations. Many people who use pain medication then get hooked on it and have a hard time breaking away, if ever. In extreme cases, the doctors will cut the nerves leading to the CNS in order to stop the pain signals from reaching the brain. There is fast, intense pain and a slow, low level, dull pain. Nobody really knows exactly where pain begins or where it ends but a salient factor is that the mind has a lot to do with its intensity and management.
The main book which covers mental illnesses is the Diagnostic Statistical Manual/ DSM. Try #362.20-362-26 or RA790.7 at the library for stories about how to deal with mental illness. The mental health section goes from #616.85-616.89 and RC435 to RC515 at the library. Remember that a hundred years ago or so, no clearly defined mental illnesses existed now they got thick books with all kinds of specific mental illnesses but I don't buy it. You are who you are, a unitary whole. You might feel depressed in the morning, grandiose in the afternoon then histrionic at night. At best, these so-called illnesses are a rough guide to what you're going through. You're you. No other human being will ever know what you're thinking. No label can describe your unique set of circumstances and feelings otherwise known as your life yet we got an entire industry of phony experts pretending they know something deep and advanced about the human condition.
The heart is the engine of the body. It's always pumping blood. When it stops, you die. Many heart diseases are the result of years of wear and tear but some are congenital, a structural or functional abnormalities there at birth. As far as birth defects go, congenital heart defects are the most common kind, occurring in at least 1% of all live births. The general knowledge thus far is that heart defects are not passed on by genetic inheritance, rather, it is a weakness the child is born with that could have something to do with what the mother did while pregnant (like had rubella which is linked to CHD), could be one part of another genetically inherited disorder like cystic fibrosis or could be the bad luck of the draw. There will always be a certain percentage of live births born with anomalies and as far as medical knowledge currently knows, it's just one of those things some babies are born with but the news is not all bad.
This book has basic contact information for schools and colleges within the trades and technical skills. I’ve looked around. A book like this doesn’t exist anywhere right now, a book that tries to list most of the community colleges and trades-vocational schools in the United States. I deal with specific profession schools in the next book. A lot of colleges offer career programs that don’t lead to a degree but rather a certificate for the vocational field. Local community colleges often offer many programs in the practical skill occupations. Professional and trade organizations present free or low-cost webinars in addition to their traditional courses available for a fee.
In general, communications is considered a glamor industry because of the creativity involved so competition is fierce, even for people with advanced degrees. I've known several people with journalism degrees who couldn't find a job so they ended up as high school teachers or something like that. It's all about your ability with words. Newscasts have to be written everyday. They have to have fresh, new, exciting, crisp stories. It takes a certain pragmatic skill to write good news copy quickly. If you can get a story, summarize it down into your own words very quickly, edit news footage to go with it to create a quick story on the nightly newscast, you will easily be in demand because these skills are rather rare. People who do these jobs often get tired of the stress involved and quit. On the other hand, I heard of one talk show host who had two jobs in different cities. He did his morning talk show, took a plane to the other city 150 miles away, did his evening show
People are criticizing online dating like crazy but dating websites don't tell you that. For a lot of people, it's a big waste of money and time. For a lot of women, it's like fake flattery. A new female joins a dating website. All of a sudden, she's got 100 e-mails from guys interested in her but she doesn't know that these guys do this to every new female member. She thinks they're interested in her because of what she said in her profile and how she looks. Let's say she goes on 50 dates. Forty eight will be frogs or no match. The guy she feels comfortable with might live three thousand miles away. It's not just that. It's the myth that if you post a profile up, love is just around the corner. You still gotta deal with the real world, meet someone face to face and start a real relationship. There's another thing too. Your profile is up there for anyone to steal and put on youtube or to go public with it if you become a politician or famous in some way.
Food is necessary. Food is an obsession to some people. Go to #641 at the library and you’ll find hundreds of cookbooks.Go to #611 to #613 which is the fitness and health section. There are books about diet and healthy eating there. There are some general food books at #640. There is tons of free knowledge on the internet. Home economics/ thrift type living books are at #332.024 or TX326 at the library. Books about how to feed children are at #649.3 or RJ53. The U.S. Dept of Agriculture created the Food Pyramid and stuff like that. Food books at the library start at #640 and go to #642. 640. Household Stuff. 641. Food and drink. 642. Food and meal service. If you're interested in country living like gardening vegetables, etc., go to #630.2, #641.4 and #643 sections or S501 at the library.
Unschooling or learner-centered education is not good for attaining grade school standards. I think this system works best for naturally creative-gifted kids who have mastered the 3 r's somewhat by grade 7. If they got grade 7 math, reading and writing down and they're self-motivated, let them go. See where their genius takes them. Only a few children are intrinsically motivated enough to control their own education without degenerating into wanting to be a pop star or beauty contest queen. Unschooling is good for naturally intelligent kids whose families have some money and their parents, other relatives or paid caretakers/ tutors have time to guide them along but many kids are not naturally curious beyond what they're brainwashed by on TV and many are poor as well. They can't study archeology on a whim because it would cost money for books, tools, etc.
This book is basically a straight list of American colleges and universities by state and in alphabetical order. There is a list of colleges with religious affiliations. I cover accrediting agencies, fake college degree diploma mills, college rankings, private colleges, colleges based on demographics like minority and gender. I list some of the many websites out there that claim to list American colleges. The problem with most of them is that they either give you one college at a time, try to push their advertising sponsor colleges at you or they’re otherwise junky. Accreditation is the process of quality assurance for schools and colleges. A higher education authority than the colleges examines them to determine whether they pass their standards of education. This is done to ensure that graduates meet the professional requirements of the profession they're studying.
The only way to keep a strong spirit day by day is to discover who you are in your true nature then make a decision that you will honor that essence by releasing a load of that natural energy everyday to meet that inner standard inside of you. I wrote A Free Spirit's Search for Enlightenment about how to live the greatest life possible after I discovered the only way I could be happy day after day in the esthetic-euphoric-spiritual-loving sense is to release most of the natural energy inside of me everyday to honor the standard that I was born with. If I didn't do this, I would feel miserable which is why I have no choice but to constantly keep releasing whatever inspired power lives inside of me. It's the only way to live a great life in harmony with your true nature. Now that I'm getting older, I find fear creeping in.
At least half of all American people will die without leaving a will. The way the system is set up makes it a bad move for the heirs if you don't have one. Even if you're poor, you could suddenly get struck down in an accident and leave heirs to the positive end of a large wrongful death lawsuit. If you don't leave a will, your estate goes to what's called Intestate. They will try to divvy it up to your relatives but if they can't find them, the property goes to the state. If you die without a will, the state determines who gets custody of your children under 18. The first thing to do is to sit down, take an inventory of everything you own and put a dollar value on it. This is called your estate and includes: Residence. Real estate. Business personal property including partnership interests, copyrights, patents, trademarks, stock options, etc. Vehicles, boats, etc. Bank accounts and CDs. Investments; Stocks, mutual funds and bonds.
Arthritis, one of the oldest disease known to mankind, is the inflammation of one or more joints. It occurs in all ethnic races at all times of the life-cycle. Decline in joint function generally begins at age 30 if you don't exercise. No one really knows the exact cause of this painful and disabling disease, however, there are three theories: Infection. Body's own defenses go out of line and attack its own tissues. Atrophy of joints due to little use. Experts believe that emotional stress plays a very important role in the cause of arthritis. Arthritis usually begins with a morning stiffness in the joints brought on by a life of hard work and/ or former injuries. Nearly 40 million Americans have some form of arthritis. The general term arthritis includes over 100 kinds of rheumatic diseases most of which last for life.
When I was young and naïve, I got my ideas about sex from all the movies and TV shows I watched. I thought you had to move in for the kiss even when you weren't feeling it. I thought it was appropriate to fondle a girl's tits just because I kissed her a few times. I thought it entitled me to intimacy but I was really just a jerk fondling her tits. I was going through caricature moves. A few times when I got high with girls, they were in the mood. They were liking me so everything was natural; the kissing, the touching, the mutual lust. It was a natural flow. Most guys are not so drop-dead gorgeous that a girl is lusting for them. Some young girls are horny and want sex with any healthy guy. Most older girls are not spontaneous at all. They are looking for a husband. The guy they pick is usually a steady working man who does not inspire lust in them so the sex will be stilted and fumbling but it's all they can get as older women plus they want a steady guy over a superficial good-looking guy.
This is not a book about where to get free or cheap medical care. Another book in this series covers that. This is about different options to buy health insurance, the different types of health insurance and options for hard-to-insure people. There are several issues involved with serious illness and money. Many insurance companies have caps afterwhich you have to pay for your own treatment. Beyond that, employers tend to get rid of employees with serious illnesses. It's like a double whammy. You get sick then you get fired. It's so serious that there are activists and politicians fighting for safety nets for people who get a serious illness. This is why I preach about saving your money and not spending it on frivolous things. Who is gonna care about all that money you spent on hair color and frivolous clothes when you're sick and depleting your life's savings?
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), prohibits private business and government agencies with 15 or more employees from discriminating against a qualified handicapped person in all manner of the employment process from hiring to performance to termination. Employers are allowed to ask prospective employees about their ability to perform a specific job function but they're not allowed to ask them about their disabilities per se. Reasonable accommodation for disabled job applicants refers to not asking embarrassing questions during the interview and also to make reasonable physical accommodations. Regardless of the particular disability, be it mobility limitation, sight or hearing impairment or a chronic condition like multiple sclerosis, the company is supposed to provide assistance in all these matters. This might be to provide a sign language reader, provide a reading enlarger machine for the visually impaired or build a ramp to enable a wheelchair user to enter the building.
Everybody has disabled people somewhere in their family tree. Lots of people are born disabled due to genetic reasons or as the result of pregnancy complications. People get injured or acquire debilitating diseases at some point in life. I've lived with both, a disabled relative and serious injuries of my own. The thing is that the world goes on. It doesn't slow down or stop just because someone is disabled. We can do so much politically and the rest we have to do on our own to fit into the world somehow in a useful, productive way to get the money we want to buy the things that will help us survive and enjoy our lives more. The best thing I ever saw about disabilities was the 1940s movie called Shaggy Bush which was a movie about a family going through ups and downs. There was a bit in there where the mother said her daughter's disability didn't mean she was doomed. It just meant that she would still do what she felt in her spirit with her life with this extra nuisance to deal with.
