本次展覽大會破天荒的邀請九個獨立製錶師品牌加入，甚至另闢一塊稱之為「製錶師廣場」（Carré des Horlogers）的展示區域，這對向來以歷峯集團為首、自視高階的各大頂級品牌們，無異承認了這群過去被認為非主流、歷經十多年至今擁有實質技術力及市場影響力的個性品牌，即使原本的RALPH LAUREN退出展覽之列，看來也絲毫不影響內容的豐富性。
2015年的 WATCHES & WONDERS「鐘錶與奇蹟」亞洲高級鐘錶展順利邁向了第三屆，今年大會主辦單位已經與香港國際會議展覽中心簽訂一紙新約，證實在2019年前，W&W錶展將會繼續在香港舉辦。破除過去兩年不時傳出是否會移往新加坡等地的傳聞。
前兩屆都有參與的AUDEMARS PIGUET愛彼今年選擇暫不參與，令參展品牌由去年的13個品牌減少為12個，除了RICHEMONT旗下的眾品牌品牌，獨立品牌僅剩下RICHARD MILLE。這樣的發展，是否反映出近兩年腕錶市場的持續走低，國際景氣低迷，中國市場榮景不似過往爆炸般的發展，因而毅然選而退出持續觀察？抑或可能是因為一年兩次錶展，發表兩次新作品，對於品牌造成一定壓力所致？這都值得討論。
老實說，過去高級鐘錶工業都把女錶想得很「淺薄」，女錶的設計元素除了珠寶鑲嵌、還是珠寶鑲嵌，儘管在線條與造型上的開發仍舊有其難度，但在機械腕錶追求的機械功能高度上，似乎就只能延續男錶的既有機種。鏤空在2016年將是卡地亞新款的一大重點，不過新款不見得非得是全新的線條不可，能夠在細節上投注創新，仍舊會讓人感到驚喜，而Clé de Cartier鏤空腕錶及Crash鏤空腕錶就是最好的例子。
從聖杯級的大自鳴Grand Sonnerie、到三問Minute Repeater等等報時問錶功能，均是機械錶傳統複雜功能裡、排名最前頭的設計，也是要價最昂貴的功能，因為問錶是用純機械啟動運作、發出「聲音」來傳達時間，只要配戴者一推動滑桿（等於是三問的開關），腕錶內的機芯就會根據現下時間，經過一連串的齒輪協調動作，以微型音錘敲擊機芯周圍的音簧，順序發出分別代表小時、刻鐘（以每十五分鐘為單位）與分鐘的聲音，同時以高低音差來區隔報時的不同。
