There are many superstitions about the Qur'an that are prevalent among people. It is usually hung on the walls of houses within a decorative cover and read usually by older people from time to time. People read it in Arabic, but as they only know how to read Arabic letters without understanding the meaning, most of the time they have no idea of what they have been reading about, and so have no grasp of the content of the Qur'an.
As revealed in the Qur'an, the Gospel, Torah, Psalms and the pages of Abraham are books sent down to prophets who lived in the past. Some of these books have disappeared, while others have been altered or distorted. But they nevertheless contain a great many correct pronouncements belonging to the true faith. Muslims analyze these according to the Qur'an and the Sunna [teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (may God bless him and grant him peace)] and decide that they are correct statements compatible with verses and the hadith. Therefore, statements in the Torah and the Gospel that conform to the Qur'an and the Sunna are statements that Muslims can benefit from. But the essential precondition is for these statements to be in agreement with the verses of the Qur'an and the hadiths.
Design, in brief, means a harmonious assembling of various parts in an orderly form designed for a common goal. Going by this definition, one has no difficulty in guessing that a car is a design. This is because there is a certain goal, which is to transport people and cargo. In realisation of this goal, various parts such as the engine, tires and body are planned and assembled in a factory.
Even when you think you are sitting at home alone, you are still in the company of a great number of living things. Bacteria live on you and in your body, and constantly protect you and also, occasionally, cause you to become ill. Mites that are spread everywhere, from the chair you sit in to your carpet, to the air you breathe. Moulds and fungi begin reproducing on foods left out in the open in your kitchen for even a few hours—all of these constitute a different world with its own unique lifestyles, nutritional systems and structural features.
Most are able to speak as much or as little as they want, thanks to this God-given ability, and, it would seem, in general, people have become so accustomed to it that they fail to take into account the importance of speech.
Actually, every one of you is acquainted with the religion outlined above. You encounter it in your daily life, read its propaganda in newspapers, and see its influence on television. This religion infiltrates your life at every moment; indeed, it is part of your life. Perhaps some of you, knowingly or otherwise, have come under the direct influence of this religion. It is the "religion of Darwinism."
However, this is just one facet of the character of those who mock others. In fact, they mock particularly those ideas that they do not want to accept.
However, there exist today in every corner of the world particular systems of belief adhered to as strictly as religion, yet they are never called "religion." In this book such ideologies as materialism, communism, Darwinism (the so-called scientific basis of those ideologies) and other systems based on disbelief are referred to as "religions of irreligion." That is simply because they have all evolved over time to become religions in themselves, with a complete system of beliefs and practices. They all have their own idolized leaders and immutable books which their followers learn by heart. False religions spread rapidly and attract many adherents who are committed to making the "religion of irreligion" prevail and perpetually oppose the just and true religion (i.e., Islam), publishing books and articles to spread propaganda in favor of their manmade religions.
On the 22nd day, the embryo is even smaller than a baked bean. One day, a small node of cells in the center of that assemblage receives a command and suddenly starts pulsating. All the other cells in the body lie quiet. But this group is in constant motion, and never stops for as long as the person will live.
Over the course of time—and again by chance—earlier species gradually transformed into other genetically different species. To put it another way, Darwinism feels that in order to account for the emergence of life, all that’s needed are coincidences, natural events and long periods of time. According to Darwinists, life emerged through a combination of these accidents, for which reason there can be no question of such concepts as reason, intelligence or even consciousness (Allah is beyond this) playing any part in the process.
For example, for those with little interest in how a television works and no idea of what components the mechanism consists, the television set is simply a means of watching films or news programs. Those people will be unable to appreciate the marvelous technology in the apparatus if they remain unaware of how the video and audio signals reach the television, and do not consider how the image appears on the screen. How satellite connections are established, how images originating from another country first head into space and then without encountering any obstruction reach the television in their home with full sound and color, what function its components serve, what materials are used to make it, and the logic behind the remote control device—none of that matters! They view a television as merely an electrical device for watching selected programs.
However, although it may not be obvious at first, many people are hardly different from children when it comes to their level of awareness. This characteristic is especially evident in their lack of appreciation for such important matters as Allah’s (God’s) existence and the Hereafter, the purpose of their creation, the certainty of death, and the account they will give to Him in the Hereafter for every action or thought while alive.
With wholehearted obedience, the angels complied with Allah' s command and prostrated themselves to Adam. Yet, Iblis (Diabolis), one of the jinn, rebelled against this command. That is because, he believed that he was superior to Adam (as). Out of this arrogance, he replied to the question posed to him by Allah: "Iblis, what prevented you prostrating to what I created with My own Hands? Were you overcome by arrogance or are you one of the exalted?" (Surah Sad: 75)
Imagine that the English branch of this company informs the head office in America of the demand trends of consumers in England; the management in America, taking account of the latest consumer expectations, sends a directive to the research and development department in Italy; the prototypes designed in Italy are submitted for public approval back in England. The prototypes that gain approval are produced in the Chinese factories of this international company, and a huge world wide advertising campaign is organized to introduce these new products . . .
Its narratives concerning past nations provide guidance to people in so many ways. The lives of the Prophets, their calls to their nations, and their actual practices are examples for the believers to follow. Furthermore, the Qur'an contains signs for the future and some mysteries upon which the believers must reflect. Such is the case with Surat al-Kahf, one of its suras.
However, these are not the values that Allah has determined for the human beings He created. The Qur’an orders people to be dignified, modest, trustworthy, kind, faithful, mature and responsive. The Qur’an even describes the way we should walk:
"Turn not your face away from men with pride, nor walk in insolence through the earth. Verily, Allah likes not each arrogant boast" (Surat al-Luqman, 31:18)
On that account, duty of a believer is to apply these superior principles that Allah has decreed.
However, the theory of evolution denies this explicit truth. It holds that all species on earth evolved from one another through a process based on random occurrences.
“My ummah will divide into seventy-three sects. And all of them will belong to Hell except for one (which will belong to Paradise).” The Companions asked him to identify the sect and he said, “The one that will follow the path on which I walk and my Companions walk.” (al-Tirmidhi)
This sect that attains salvation is known as “al-Firqah al-Najiyyah” (the Saved Sect). Another name for it is “Ahl al-Sunnah wal Jama‘ah” (those on the path of the Prophet [saas] and his companions).
He recognizes animals in pictures and knows their features very well. This is one of the reasons why his friends like Karim a lot. They enjoy chatting to him during breaks or on the way to and from school.
The struggle a number of prophets faced in spreading the message is depicted in detail in the Qur'an. The hardships they faced, the solutions they brought by the leave of Allah and the exemplary behaviour are all clearly outlined. Allah communicates what His messengers endured as an example for people, for their struggle and good character are also applicable for the people of today.
You have an excellent model in the Messenger of Allah, for all who put their hope in Allah and the Last Day and remember Allah much. (Surat al-Ahzab: 21)
Our Prophet (saas) imparted glad tidings regarding the Mahdi, who will be sent during the End Times. For example, this great individual will liberate Muslims from cruelty and suffering; eliminate corruption; and usher in an era of peace, justice, plenty, happiness, and well being. According to reliable hadiths, he will return Islam, which has been distorted via superstitions and practices, to its true essence; meet with Prophet ‘Isa (as); and, by Allah’s will, will enable Islam’s moral values to prevail on Earth.
Throughout history, in some societies what people expect from one another has been more important than what Allah (God) expects from people. With no awareness of the Qur'an's decrees or of the way of life enjoined in that book, people have strived to fulfill the expectations of the societies and social environments in which they live.
In reality, idolatry comprises everything that people set up as a goal that does not involve seeking Allah's approval, in who or which they place their hopes or desire for approval, or every entity regarded as possessing true power and control other than Allah. Given the subtlety of this definition, idolatry needs to be considered as something that may be very close at hand.
