লেখকের প্রথম ই-বুক ‘নায়িকা’ ৯টি গল্পের একটি সমাহার। সমাজ, সাহিত্য, ধর্ম, আইন-আদালত, ও রাজনীতি আঙ্গিকের গল্পে আছে প্রেম, বিবাহ, বিরহ, ঘৃণা, মৃত্যু, ও রোমাঞ্চ। ব্যঙ্গরস ও নাটিকীয় ভঙ্গীতে যৌতুক প্রথাকে তীরষ্কার করা হয়েছে ‘নায়িকা’য়। বিবাহিত নরনারীর মনোজগত, পারস্পরিক অবিশ্বাস ও দুঃখজনক পরিণতি বিধৃত হয়েছে দুটি গল্পে। স্বাস্থ্য, ধর্ম ও আইনকে একই কাঠগড়ায় দাঁড় করানো হয়েছে ‘রিমান্ড কাহাকে বলে’তে। কালীদাসের মেঘদূতের কাছে সবকিছু বলে অন্তিম বিরহ থেকে মুক্তি খুঁজেছে ‘শিউলীর অন্তর্দাহ’তে। নিখাদ প্রেম ও বিরহ-নির্ভর ভিন্নধর্মী গল্পের একটি ঘটেছে আমেরিকায়, অপরটি বাংলাদেশে। সত্য ঘটনার সাথে একাকার হয়ে গেছে কল্পনাোখের কতো জল!

To paraphrase Robindronath, 'Tumi Kemon korey Lekho Aamaar Moner Kothaa__Aaami Awbaak hoye pori R shudhu pori'. Ashraf is by training a bio-chemist and by instinct a psychologist par excellence. It is his supreme insight into the psychology which allows him to become a Fiction writer. Scientists in general are endowed with penetrating eyes and when that penetrating eye enters the realm of psychological insight__great fiction writer is born.Job of a fiction writer is to evoke mental images of the readers past experiences__here, Ashraf creates a relateable world for the reader to enter__he is a Chemist and magnificently creates a chemistry between himself and his intended target.First question a fiction writer asks, 'who is the character and why should a reader care about it', and here I discovered that Ashraf 'knows' my inner secrets__here we share the same experience of falling in love with Kobori for the first time! I feel that he knows me very well, and that struck a responsive chord in me__I am hooked and I want to read more to figure out, how does he know my character.Before Ashraf, Humayun Ahmed discovered this magical insight which hooked a entire generation.I loved the intense dialogue based on the psychological warfare between a husband and wife on a regular basis: "Do you understand what love is, you never tried to understand it; have you ever returned in kind", wife bitterly complains and continues, "even though I have seen your real face; spent my whole life with you__it was all acting__everyday acting and why not perform this Natok on the stage for the whole world to see"? 'O Ashraf, how do you know me__brilliant, simply magnificent.
