"김동인(金東仁, 일본식 이름: 東 文仁 히가시 후미히토 / 金東文仁 가네히가시 후미히토, 1900년 10월 2일 ~ 1951년 1월 5일)은 일제 강점기와 대한민국의 소설가, 문학평론가, 시인, 언론인이다. 본관은 전주(全州)이며 호는 금동(琴童), 금동인(琴童仁), 춘사(春士), 만덕(萬德), 시어딤이다. 1919년의 2.8 독립 선언과 3.1 만세 운동에 참여하였으나 이후 소설, 작품 활동에만 전념하였고, 일제 강점기 후반에는 친일 전향 의혹이 있다. 해방 후에는 이광수를 제명하려는 문단과 갈등을 빚다가 1946년 우파 문인들을 규합하여 전조선문필가협회를 결성하였다. 생애 후반에는 불면증, 우울증, 중풍 등에 시달리다가 한국 전쟁 중 죽었다. 평론과 풍자에 능하였으며 한때 문인은 글만 써야된다는 신념을 갖기도 하였다. 일제 강점기부터 나타난 자유 연애와 여성 해방 운동을 반대, 비판하기도 하였다. 현대적인 문체의 단편소설을 발표하여 한국 근대문학의 선구자로 꼽힌다. 필명은 김만덕, 시어딤, 김시어딤, 금동 등을 썼다. 그의 작품은 저작권이 소멸되었다.
