Treachery, greed, and a gargantuan sea monster threaten the inhabitants of a high-tech, deep-water research station in this thrilling undersea science fiction adventure

A three-time Hugo Award winner and modern master of hard science fiction now departs from outer space for a vast, unexplored realm that is equally perilous and mysterious. Allen Steele’s Oceanspace is a heart-racing near-future adventure of danger and discovery unfolding in the dark, cold, and merciless depths of the ocean.

The undersea research facility Tethys is a technological wonder, self-sufficient and seemingly impervious to natural danger. Located off the coast of Florida deep beneath the surface of the water, the station supports a robotic mining operation on the ocean floor and facilitates the ongoing scientific exploration of Earth’s last frontier. But while on a routine assignment with his colleague Peter Lipscomb, submersible pilot Joe Niedzwiecki comes face to face with something incredible and alive, and only luck—and Peter’s quick actions—can save them.

Peter’s wife, a marine biologist named Judith, is determined to uncover the secrets of the mysterious leviathan that destroyed Joe’s sub and nearly killed him. But the strange creature prowling the dark waters is only one of the dangers confronting Tethys.

The former head of a lunar mining operation returns to the moon and is immediately sucked into a dangerous morass of labor troubles, lies, larceny, and corporate wrongdoing in this wildly entertaining science fiction thrill ride

There is big trouble on the moon. The blue-collar working stiffs of Descartes Station, who mine the surface for minerals and the North Pole for water, have become increasingly dissatisfied with Skycorp’s general disregard for its employees’ well-being. Following the most recent spate of layoffs, the labor strike grumblings have only grown louder, so the company is sending former base administrator and recovering alcoholic Lester Riddell back into the fold in an attempt to boost morale and output alike.

The truth, however, becomes shockingly apparent to Riddell almost immediately upon his return. Not only has he been unceremoniously dumped into a muddled mess of larceny, piracy, and corporate malfeasance, it appears that Skycorp is purposely setting him up to fail—which could spell finis for Descartes Station and every trash-talking, pot-smoking, porn-loving Vacuum Sucker and Moondog who toils there. But as the Skycorp suits are about to discover, they’ve just made the biggest mistake of their corporate lives—because Lester Riddell is nobody’s fall guy.

Three-time Hugo Award winner Allen Steele has seen the near future, and it isn’t pretty—it’s noisy, dirty, dangerous, and chaotic. Thrilling, wildly inventive, delightfully profane, and totally outrageous, Lunar Descent is one hell of rocket ride, with a master of science fiction at the helm.

Before breaking his lunar orbit, Snell reviewed his mission instructions: 1. Locate the lost Observer ship and salvage or destroy it. 2. Destroy any Syssphinx attempt to communicate with its home base. If possible, discover details about the Syssphinx race. 3. Find and communicate with the Lorelei. The first directive would be simple. As for the second one, either the Dark ship was destroyed or if not, so he had almost no chance to complete the directive. The Dark ships and their Syssphinx crews were the sworn enemies of all other life forms in the universe. No one really understood their avowed goal to extermination all life. Repeated negotiations had failed miserably. The second part of this directive was interesting. Behind its words, it demonstrated the Observers insatiable curiosity to know and to learn. The third directive was the most exciting, but probably not possible. When seen, descriptions of the Lorelei were always different, fantastic and contradictory. A Lorelei could be gaseous, liquid or solid, at will. It could be huge. Or small. It was intelligent. Or primal. It could communicate. Or it was pure life force. Even the Observers didnt know, and they knew everything. Snell smiled. Observers could not be omniscience and without knowledge at the same time. His elders lack of knowledge about either the Syssphinx or the Lorelei both amused and fascinated him. With determination, he activated his thrusters, broke orbit, and slipped toward the planet below. He did not understand just how difficult fulfilling any the directives would be.
The first book in the revolutionary New York Times bestselling Expanse series, a modern masterwork of science fiction. Leviathan Wakes introduces Captain James Holden, his crew, and Detective Miller as they unravel a horrifying solar system wide conspiracy that begins with a single missing girl. Now a Prime Original series.
Humanity has colonized the solar system - Mars, the Moon, the Asteroid Belt and beyond - but the stars are still out of our reach.

Jim Holden is XO of an ice miner making runs from the rings of Saturn to the mining stations of the Belt. When he and his crew stumble upon a derelict ship, the Scopuli, they find themselves in possession of a secret they never wanted. A secret that someone is willing to kill for - and kill on a scale unfathomable to Jim and his crew. War is brewing in the system unless he can find out who left the ship and why.

Detective Miller is looking for a girl. One girl in a system of billions, but her parents have money and money talks. When the trail leads him to the Scopuli and rebel sympathizer Holden, he realizes that this girl may be the key to everything.

Holden and Miller must thread the needle between the Earth government, the Outer Planet revolutionaries, and secretive corporations - and the odds are against them. But out in the Belt, the rules are different, and one small ship can change the fate of the universe.
