From the sample read, I wish this book with it's cartoon conversation examples would have been available to me as I was raising my son. From reading just one chapter I can honestly recommend reading this book and doing the exercises. I never liked feeling invalidated and ignored, but I didn't know my communication style and responses with my son were mostly to blame when quarrels resulted. I only knew how to communicate my way. I used to wish for an instruction manual on raising and talking with children and here an entire series is for under $30. I love the cartoon examples of where a conversation goes awry and then an example of a conversation that results in validation and peace for both parties. An extremely help guide to productive communication with children. Good resource for parents, teachers, anyone communicating with children. B
