About this ebook

Nick Hudson has a dangerous reputation.

That's what I need if I'm going to survive.

Desperation makes me seek out a ruthlessly powerful billionaire.

I need protection.

He demands my virtue as payment.

I’m falling into a world of luxury and sin.

With every twist and turn, I need more.

Except this is not a man to love.

This is a man to fear.

His obsession grows. So does the threat, until I'm trapped in a world of depravity. I'll need more than Nick's strength to survive. I'm going to need his heart.

Welcome to the Midnight Dynasty... The warring Morelli and Constantine families have enough bad blood to fill an ocean, and their brand new stories will be told by your favorite dangerous romance authors.

I just couldn't connect with the characters or the Alice in Wonderland premise. Normally, re-imaginings (especially kinky ones) of myths, fairytales and classic are my catnip. This Alice in Wonderland never got beyond the lame pop-up club vibe and Nick's Mad Hatter was a non-starter for me. The art angle didn't even draw me in. Nick and Lyrope lack the chemistry and heat that Midnight Dynasty is known for. Also, it feels like the bitter, bastard children keep popping up like cock roaches in Bishop's Landing and the conflict never changes, or gets resolved for that matter. 2.5 stars

In true Alta Hensley fashion, Nick Hudson and Lyriope Bryant spin such a tale that I got sucked into the story immediately. I love the Alice in Wonderland references, and wish I could go to Wonderland myself. I really hope to read more about these two in the future, because this story isn't enough for me. Please note that I did receive an ARC of this book, and the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Alice in the Wonderland vibes with spice. King of Spades was enjoyable to read. I really liked Lyriope and Nick. What can I say, I love anti heroes like him. I loves the little games the two of them played. Though, there were times I wanted to scream, "Would you just bang already". Also I would love to attend Nick Hidson's Wonderland parties. This is the first in the trilogy, so there's a cliffhanger and not a lot happens. I'm interested in seeing what happens next.
