Didn’t You Promise is the second installment in Amber Bardan’s Bad for You series. This book picks up from where the first book ended so if you haven’t read that book you will need to do so before starting this one. Angelina has just learned who Haithem really is and why being with him will not only put them but everyone they care for in danger. Haithem’s new innovation will change the world’s energy crisis but for that to happen they have to safely deliver the device without getting themselves killed first. These two have a long battle ahead of them but Angelina is confident now that all the lies have been revealed they can make their relationship work, they just need to trust and depend on each other. Everything seems to be going well for the couple for a while but when danger strikes Haithem will stop at nothing to protect Angelina. I have to say that I enjoyed this book even more than the first. Angelina has grown since becoming involved with Haithem and her habits and tendencies to whine have decreased drastically. While Angelina is still young her maturity level really starts to develop throughout the book and I find myself liking her character even more. Haithem is older than Angelina so he has more patience and years of experience under his belt to handle things better. I will have to say, without giving too much of the story line away, that I didn’t really think he handled all of the situations like he should have but who knows how any of us would handle the person we love be threatened. I really enjoyed the dynamics and relationship between these two. It was such a struggle for them at times that it makes you think of them more as a real couple instead of characters in the book. This book put me on a rollercoaster of emotions so be prepared to laugh, blush, scream and cry. Overall I really enjoyed this book and the series and would recommend it to others. I received an eARC of this book compliments of the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. All opinions and ratings stated are my own.
