About this ebook

He wants her submission. She demands his secrets.

Hades has acres of diamonds and precious little patience for a world that has stolen his compassion. So, when lifegiving medication is withheld from him, Hades steals something more valuableā€”the daughter of his enemyā€”and holds her for ransom.

The night Persephone left home, she had just one thing on her mind: freedom. But that was before a bad-tempered billionaire claimed her body as his own. Now at his behest, Persephone is far from content with being a possession. For this, there must be recompense...

Determined to know every uncharted inch of her captor, Persephone insists on answers. But even as their defenses topple beneath a wave of desire, Hadesā€™ worst secrets remain buried deepā€”and his pain threatens to engulf any who dare to unearth it.

I have always been fascinated by the Hades & Persephone mythology. (So much so, that my bestie and I named a kitten we rescued Persephone due to a shared custody situation.) Persephone has been sheltered by her mother her entire life. She has reached the point where she wants to escape. To experience things. Her fascination with the New York Public Library...I love it. She has been taught that Hades is dangerous. That he will be her end. So when she finds herself throwing herself at his mercy to save the boy she was meeting, she has no idea what she's in for. Hades (Luther) rules his world with an strict hand. Everyone has given themselves over to him in exchange for something. Little does he expect Demeter's daughter to end up in that position. He is fascinated by the innocent Persephone. He finds himself thinking of her more than he ever has for anyone. They are both drawn to each other. He senses her darkness. She finds herself wanting him to do those dark things to her. Definitely a fantastic modern take on the myth...and a much more adult take on it as well. Dark, dark, dark. Love the dark. This is only the beginning. Ends on a cliffie. Can't wait for the rest. And I so hope Amelia explores the others, Zeus, Demeter...fingers crossed. I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

A little too drawn out. Lots of waffle and not enough speech. It doesn't always make sense either, or it isn't always clear about what's going on. The connection between the two characters is intoxicating but it's never enough; you wait for something to happen, but for me it doesn't move quickly enough to buy the following books. It's got a nice tone and writing style though.

Noooo you so can not leave me hanging like this šŸ˜Æ Definitely would not call this a romance - a 'lustmance' though - absofrickinloutely! This is an insta- capitulation story - normally that doesn't work for me - But with Persephone and Luther, it felt natural. As the story progressed I found myself curious more involved it was the little things - Random thoughts Simple acts That drew me in had me wanting to peak ahead just to reassure myself - I didn't though but it was tempting I'm still trying to figure out Luther's weakness - besides Persephone - He has everything a man(?) could want but for what Demeter can provide him, which I think I know but it doesn't fit, has me at a loss. His character seems empty void of empathy, but if that was true what about Conor? Persephone, on the other hand, is just a hormone-driven little nymph. She reminds me a bit like someone with a chocolate addiction. She knows better than to indulge but OMG the way it melts in your mouth, the burst of flavors on your tongue - more! I gave her a pass because for some reason despite her not so innocent innocence I liked her character. Then there is sweet innocent eyed Decker who only wants to give Persephone the world (hack, cough) This ends on a cliffhanger leaving me with all my original questions and even a couple more I didn't originally have because everything just changed
