About this ebook

From New York Times bestselling author Angie Fox

Southern belle Verity Long is back in business—as a ghost hunter. Now all she has to do is visit the town's creepiest mansion and exorcise a family of vengeful spirits. Piece of cake. After all, ghosts love her and need her...that is until she meets the ghosts of Rock Fall mansion. They'll do anything to keep their murderous secrets hidden within the cliff-side fortress—even if that means getting rid of one meddling ghost hunter.

With the entire town skeptical and scrutinizing her every move, Verity struggles to uncover the century-old mystery behind the house. And when she stumbles upon a very fresh, very dead body, she realizes there’s more to it than she ever imagined. With the help of her sexy cop boyfriend, Ellis, and her ghostly gangster sidekick, Frankie, she braves the overgrown gardens, the desolate family cemetery, and the haunted mansion that have been locked away for generations. But can Verity unearth the truth before she's the next one buried on the deadly grounds?

Now that her secret is out, Verity Long jumps headfirst into the world of the paranormal, by announcing a change in her career focus from graphic designer to “official” ghost hunter, and boy, is her first case a doozy! With her ex-almost-brother-in-law boyfriend, Ellis, her pet skunk, Lucy, and her accidental side kick and resident ghost, Frankie, she agrees to help the last surviving member of the Treadwell family resolve the curse that had plagued his family and ancestral home for over a hundred years. Deader Homes and Gardens is the fourth book in Angie Fox’s latest series, the Southern Ghost Hunter mysteries. Lee Treadwell enlists Verity to help him with a mystery that haunted his family and their historic home. He is the grandson of Egyptologist Jack Treadwell, the origin of the family troubles, if old rumors are to be believed. Lee needs to reclaim the grand old house that lays tragically vacant on the same property as the small cottage he lives in. Verity calls on her ability to borrow Frankie’s energy to see and interact with the ghosts who remain long after their earthly bodies have gone, to solve this intriguing puzzle, and right some of the wrongs that have infected the Treadwells for over a century. It would be ironic to call this a light-hearted series, in this book alone Verity is dealing with murder committed in the name of overwhelming greed, but these books certainly take a lighter approach than your typical mystery – and that’s a good thing. When I read Fox’s books (Her Accidental Demon Slayer series is an absolute hoot!), I expect a solid storyline, with well-developed characters, and continuity from book to book, making for a nice, easy read. She has yet to disappoint. Fox’s books remain one my favorite ways to spend an afternoon. Good plots (fleshed out enough to hold your interest, but not so complex that they feel like work), relatable characters that you actually like, and a smooth writing style with just the right amount of details make for the perfect escape. Grab a cup of tea, snuggle under your softest throw, and shut out the daily hustle and bustle with this latest hit from Angie Fox, a book I would highly recommend.

Prepare yourself for an cozy paranormal mystery with loads of laughs and to meet new and intriguing characters and ghosts. Deader Homes and Gardens is the fourth installment of the series.

About the author

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Angie Fox writes sweet, fun, action-packed mysteries. Her characters are clever and fearless, but in real life, Angie is afraid of basements, bees, and going up stairs when it is dark behind her. Let’s face it. Angie wouldn’t last five minutes in one of her books.
