About this ebook

Clara loved her piano—and Piano loved her back! It was with her every single day as she practiced playing its black and white keys.

When Clara is a little girl in the 1920s, she falls in love with a beautiful piano and the music they make together. Over the years, Piano and Clara make all kinds of memories. Clara’s children learn to play the piano, too, but they never connect with it like Clara did. When Clara is old, and can no longer keep Piano, it is sent to live first with one family member, and then another. Will Piano ever find a home like it had all those years ago? Will someone in Clara’s family learn to love the piano like Clara herself did?

This sweet, enchanting book is the true story of a piano that stayed in one family for almost a hundred years and traveled all across the United States and into Canada. The proceeds from the sale of this book are donated to the David Foster Foundation (whose chairman, David Foster, is also a great composer and pianist).

About the author

Ann loves to golf, travel, and spend time with her children, and five grandchildren. One morning the grandchildren invented a game where everyone had to write a story in a short period of time. As Ann sat down to write, the story of the piano simply flowed out. Reading it later to the children, she realized it would make a wonderful children’s book and “Clara’s Piano” was born!

Ann and her husband James, spend their time in Sarasota Florida, Caledon Ontario and Lake Muskoka Ontario.
