Seth Erickson is scarred inside and out. Following his tour of service in Afghanistan and losing some of his team, as well as being horribly burned has led him to live a life of solitary in the wilderness of Alaska. Solitary, that is, until he finds beautiful Summer Silva stranded and nearly frozen. Summer is on a search for her missing sister. She never in the world thought she'd end up in an isolated cabin, barely escaping being murdered by a cold-blooded killer. Summer has major trust issues, but in order to survive, she's going to have to trust this stranger. Although 2nd in a series, this works extremely well as a stand-alone. There are no references to anything that may have happened in Book 1. With Romantic Suspense, I usually find that the balance between romance and suspense is uneven. There is some mystery here, but mainly it's the relationship that starts with sex while sleep walking the first day Seth and Summer meet. From there, Seth becomes a sort of bully, telling Summer what she will and won't do. I honestly did not like his at first, even though I felt some compassion about what he had gone through as a military fighter pilot. That being said, I really liked Summer. She was willful, stubborn, and really didn't let Seth get away with a lot. The one thing he did that she could not / would not tolerate was when he lied to her. Overall, a good read. A little slow in a couple of places, but not enough to make me put the book down. My thanks to the author / Carina Press / NetGalley who provided a digital copy in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

LOVED IT! Read for two days straight. Loved the story idea, the characters and who they were. I was laughing out loud throughout. I loved the setting of Alaska. I'm partial to these rugged scenarios and those that belong there ;) What awesome writing! My first Anna del Mar, and certainly not my last.
