An inspiring business book that shows leaders and businesspeople how to turn adversity into innovation, productivity, and profitability

When he was just twenty-six years old, Sam Cawthorn's life changed forever. A terrible car accident cost him his arm, left him in a coma, and put him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life—or so he thought. Today, Sam is one of the most successful motivational and inspirational speakers around, addressing some 100,000 people around the world each year, from some of the world’s biggest companies. Sam’s recovery was more than just a bounce back to where he had been before the accident. Instead, he used his accident as a launching pad to bounce forward to reach even greater heights than before. Now, Sam uses his own story to share the secrets of both personal and corporate turnarounds, how to use adversity as a springboard to greater heights not just for individuals, but also for companies and teams. Sam speaks to bankers, salespeople, leaders, corporate executives, government workers, students, and anyone else who faces challenges and setbacks every day.

In Bounce Forward, Sam shares the tools, strategies, and psychology that anyone can use to overcome any obstacle. If Sam can bounce forward from the accident that nearly took his life, there's almost nothing that you can't overcome.

  • An inspiring and motivational guide to overcoming challenges in life and in business
  • Ideal for corporate leaders and employees, business managers, and anyone else who needs to motivate themselves or their teams
  • Packed with the tools, strategies, and secret formulas it takes to turn adversity into success

No matter what kind of challenge you face—in the office, at home, or even in your own heart—Bounce Forward gives you the insight you need to climb higher than ever before, in business or in life.

About the author

Sam Cawthorn's life took a drastic and unexpected turn in October 2006. While he was working for the Australian Federal Government as a Youth Futurist, he had a major car accident. It was his fault, he fell asleep and veered onto the wrong side of the road and had a 206km head-on collision with a semi-trailer truck. Sam was pronounced dead on the scene by the paramedics for 3.5mins. Yet after resuscitation, he was in a coma for a week, hospital for 5 months and in a wheelchair for a year. The doctors said Sam would never walk again, but defying the odds he picked myself up and now lives - with the most advanced bionic arm, one of the only people in the world that plays the guitar with one arm, flying over 20 times per month speaking to over 100,000 people each year in 7 countries, to Fortune 500 companies and sharing the stage with names like, Bill Clinton, Dali Lama, Steve Wozniac, Brian Tracey, Mark Boris and being featured in the New York Times.
Before the accident Sam was obsessed with understanding young people, how they ticked, their issues, worries, their problems and everything that stimulated them, motivated them and ignited them to take action. Since the accident Sam has been obsessed with two things: how to develop the best communication skills in order to deliver a powerful and inspiring keynote presentation that leaves a lasting impact for years, and, revealing the secrets of corporate and personal turnarounds. Since the accident, he’s researched and interviewed organisations, business leaders, teams and individuals about how they have overcome major challenges in their lives. What were the mechanics, the tools, the strategies and the secret formulas to not just bounce back but Bounce Forward into greater lives, greater productivity, greater focus levels, greater profitability? How did they turnaround and create better lives?
This was how he discovered the BOUNCE theory and developed proven principles, through heavy research & study, how an individual, a team, a leader and an organization can BOUNCE out of any situation, circumstance or crisis to be better than before the crisis hit.

Own your screw ups, get inspired and create the life you want.

Sick of chasing the perfect relationship, career or bank balance? Tired of feeling like you’re never quite ‘enough’? You’re not alone. And it’s time to do something about it. Smart Girls Screw Up Too, is THE no-nonsense guide for a generation of women who secretly muse about what might be possible in their careers, health and relationships but don’t know where to start or are too afraid to.

When a clusterf**k of screw ups found author Bella Zanesco burnt out, depressed and with a broken soul, she knew something – perhaps everything – had to change. But what? Her first ports of call were the usual Band-Aids: Tinder, work and shopping. But soon, she realised those weren’t going to work. If she wanted to fix this thing, she was going to need to take extreme measures.

And so she began the journey that would transform her from ‘Sad Girl’ to ‘Smart Girl’; a journey that meant taking up all the things that she’d been told were good for her but she had always been too afraid, too ‘busy’, or too lazy to try. Cue everything from green juices to setting boundaries to quitting her job to culling her friends.

Delivered with no-holds-barred honesty, humour and compassion, Smart Girls Screw Up Too brings together: the latest research into gut science, neuroscience and epigenetics; ancient tribal wisdom; interviews with global game changers; and insights from the author’s own two-year study of over 2000 women. Paired with a Personal Life Audit, you will get immediate clarity about where to start when seeking purpose, vitality and love. And, together with Bella – the wise but ass-kicking bestie you wish you’d known earlier – you’ll embark on a series of simple daily challenges that will not only get you to the root causes of why you think, feel and behave as you do, but see you making changes that stick.

No matter what your starting point, you are capable of creating the life you want NOW.
Mojo happens the moment we do something that's purposeful, powerful, and positive, and the rest of the world recognizes it. '#MOJOtweet' by New York Times best-selling author Marshall Goldsmith reveals how we can create Mojo in our lives, maintain it, and recapture it when we need it.

In this book, you will explore the vital ingredients for building Mojo--identity, achievement, reputation, and acceptance--and realize the five qualities necessary to do an activity well--motivation, knowledge, ability, confidence, and authenticity. In 140 bite-sized insights (ahas), Goldsmith teaches readers how to discover and nurture these elements within ourselves and how to use them as building blocks for creating our own personal Mojo, the result of which is happiness, reward, meaning, learning, and gratitude.

One of the key insights in the book says, "The only person who can define meaning and happiness for you is YOU!" This book will make you think, this book will make you act, this book can help you cultivate better Mojo and become a better YOU. Goldmsith says that "our general tendency is to continue to do what we are already doing," but the paradox is that "this might not be sufficient for getting and keeping Mojo." So, do something different--something powerful, something purposeful, something positive--and get and keep '#MOJOtweet' today. Read more in his new book, 'MOJO: How to Get It, How to Keep It, How to Get It Back if You Lose It.'

'#MOJOtweet' is part of the THINKaha series whose 100-page books contain 140 well-thought-out quotes (tweets/ahas).

Take your audience on a journey to leave a more lasting impact

Storyshowing is an instruction manual for making connections. Storytelling has been shown to be one of the most effective methods of persuasion, motivation and inspiration, yet the disconnect remains — you're still only telling. To truly influence people, you need to go deeper than that — you need to show them your story. By inviting your audience in, you connect on a much deeper, more emotional level; you bypass the brain and connect at the root of what it means to be human, leaving a profound impact on their entire outlook. This book shows you how to transcend telling and start showing your story, using an easy-to-follow framework you can start applying today. Unearth your own experiences, and bring your vulnerabilities out into the light; share your emotions and forge a path to true communication. Use images, body language and gestures as tools to build that indelible connection; then and only then will people truly engage and transform their thinking.

No matter your message, the impact lies in the delivery. This insightful guide equips you with the tools and skills you need to start communicating like never before.

Share more powerful stories using a simple 5-step method Build confidence, influence others and make a deeper connection Be more persuasive in presentations, pitches, calls and talks Transform the way people think by inviting them inside your story

The difference between telling and showing is like the difference between a lecture and a play. It's the difference between giving information and taking the audience on a journey. The difference between a brochure and a test drive. Storyshowing helps you level up your communication to leave a lasting, more profound impact.
