About this ebook

In today’s business world, organizations depend on teamwork. When team members pool their skills and talents, creative problem solving and productivity flourish. This meeting of minds and personalities can come with risks. How these risks are managed makes the difference between teams that pop and those that don’t. So how do you lead a team to success and make it pop?

Teams That Pop is a business management manual based on author Brendan Nolan’s forty years of grass roots management and leadership experience. During this period, he developed a leadership and management model that harnesses a team’s inherent expertise and creativity to find and smoothly implement timely and cost-effective solutions. These clear and direct strategies will help leaders manage personnel, create a positive work culture, and increase overall productivity. The team will pop!

High personnel turnover, low productivity, or an unsatisfactory bottom line indicate a need for improvement. Nolan encourages leaders to address performance concerns by adopting a less direct approach that shifts the focus towards individual development in a results-oriented team setting. This change from forced growth to a more natural growth is a fresh perspective. Teams That Pop provides a modern leadership model for twenty-first century businesses and people.

About the author

Brendan Nolan was born and educated in the UK before he was recruited by the Royal Canadian Navy. For thirty-eight years, he worked in naval operations, headquarters, and civilian work for the Department of National Defence. During this time, he successfully led eight very different teams to achieve their objectives on time and within budget. Even with this estimated 27,000 active hours of team management experience, Nolan doesn’t claim to be an expert but does claim to know a thing or two about the subject. These experiences are the foundation of his first book, Teams That Pop. Nolan lives in Ottawa, Ontario, with his wife Sue. You can connect with him through LinkedIn.
