About this ebook

The Scottish Highlands, 1815. Lady Sybil Lacey is every inch an English woman. She's horrified her best friend is wedding a barbarian Scot. For aren't Scots naught but brutish, whiskey-swilling lechers? So to find herself secretly attracted to the tall and devastatingly handsome Scottish laird of Bedlay Castle is quite disconcerting...

Liam MacBride is convinced that English ladies are silly sassenachs who think of nothing but social events and clothes. So why is he intensely drawn to Lady Sybil? All they do is quarrel...until loathing turns into undeniable lust.

A tempestuous, fiery romance between an English lady and a Scottish laird cannot end well.

The Marriage Mart Mayhem series is best enjoyed in order.

3.5* I love this series so much. Callie Hutton has such a way with historical romance, whether it be Regency or Western. Her words take you to that time and place and your totally wrapped up in the story. While this is not my favorite book in the series so far I did truly enjoy it. It's was a good story of not judging a book by its cover and getting to know the person for who they are not what they are...Scottish vs English. Sybil has grown up being told the barbarian ways of the Scots and Liam the entitled and demanding ways of the English. After spending time together they begin to see the good in each other and how this might just be the future they've been looking for if they can get passed their prejudice. I am looking forward to reading Sarah's book next. I highly recommend this series they are not stand alone books and should be read in order to fully enjoy each book.

Different worlds. Different cultures. She's and English lady. He's a Scottish Highlander. Callie Hutton takes us to Scotland where you will be turning page after page of this delightful historical romance. Lady Sybil Lacey and Liam McBride meet when Sybil travels to Scotland for her friend, Martha's wedding. Sybil has always been told the Scots are nothing but barbarians and Liam feels the English are a demanding people. Sybil but cannot help but be attracted to Liam although she bickers and he teases. Maybe he isn't as bad as what she has always been told and just maybe not all English are demanding snobs with nothing better to do than gossip and talk about fashion . Throw Liam's mother into the mix and look out. Lady McBride is a stubborn woman who only want's a Scottish lass for her son. She makes it difficult for Sybil while at Bedlay Castle, testing her with chores that an English lady would never perform. Will Liam step up and show his mother he knows who is best suited for him or will Lady McBride turn him against Sybil? A fast paced story of intrigue and romance. Highly recommend to those who enjoy the historical genre. Callie Hutton brings her characters to life in Highlander's Choice showing how they worked to overcome their prejudices to find the true person within. Another great installment in the Marriage Mayhem series. Was presented a copy by the author for an honest review.

Lady Sybil Lacey is a noble, gently-bred English lady, raised to believe the Scots to be whiskey-drinking, brawling philandering barbarians, yet she is determined to journey to the Highlands to support her best friend as a member of her wedding party. Much to her surprise, while a guest there, she meets Laird Liam MacBride and finds that they share a powerful attraction. Liam is just as surprised to be attracted to a Sassenach, as he was raised to believe all English ladies are spoiled princesses who prattle on about nothing more than clothes and parties. Both quickly learn how very wrong their assumptions about the other are, and their passion ignites. Liam knows that he wants Sybil to be his wife, but he must convince her that she will be happy in Scotland, away from her family...and in close quarters with his own. This story is so well-written with crisp dialogue and funny and sweet moments throughout. Not only is there romance and the overcoming of deeply ingrained prejudice and hatred, but there is also the complicated dance of orchestrating a multi-generational household. Anyone who has ever had a difficult mother-in-law situation will identify with and appreciate this tale! The heroine of this book has all the heart, spirit and fire worthy of a Marriage Mart Mayhem bride, and this is an excellent addition to the series.
