In this story, Pim has turned up to check in on Lark and her Griffins for a friend. But of course things do not go smoothly and trouble abounds and these two must work together to save themselves and the griffins. It was cute, entertaining, and made me laugh at times. Loved watching these two who are considered misfits by others come together and fall for each other. But before comes love they must survive some trouble, a light twist, and surprises.

4.5 stars. This novella is dual POV, well written, and a sweet sci fi romance. I enjoyed the way the characters learned to mesh with each other and enjoy the touch of their minds. I enjoyed Lark’s dedication to her griffins and the support they provided to her in return. I enjoyed Pim’s care. I enjoyed the way they provided mutual support for each other, the griffins, and Lark’s employees/adopted children. I enjoyed the resolution. I’m aware this story is part of a series but it stood alone.

Lark has an animal whisper affinity and a brain that sometimes needs a reboot. After a crash landing and an auspicious first meeting, Lark accepts Pim’s offer of help. This story builds throughout, with more layers added and more secrets to unravel. I loved the uniqueness of this world, and the griffins were a hoot - so much trouble! A great read.
