This novella is dual POV, well written, and a fast-paced, mildly steamy, opposites attract, contemporary fantasy romance between Avelunne, the female dragon shifter artist lead who has escaped an illegal breeding compound where she has been captive, and Tanner, the male thunderbird shifter sheriff/warrior lead, chief protector of the town she crash-lands in. I enjoyed Avelunne’s hard won courage and her determination to rescue her friends and then to build a life.

I thought this was a fun story even though is does deal with some trauma and a rescue. Bu the story between Tanner and Avelunne was the fun part. I loved watching Avelunne catch up with modern day things. I thought they were sweet together as they deal with the rescue, town drama, and their attraction. Liked the action too. A good fun story in the series.
