About this ebook

Love is a mortal sin, and the secrets of the past are deadly. Plunge into the third installment in the internationally bestselling Mortal Instruments series and “prepare to be hooked” (Entertainment Weekly).

To save her mother’s life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters—never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.

As Clary uncovers more about her family’s past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadowhunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadowhunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he’s willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City—whatever the cost?

Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the third installment of bestselling series the Mortal Instruments.

Includes an exclusive sneak peek of the fourth book in the Mortal Instruments series: City of Fallen Angels! And don't miss the teaser from Clockwork Angel, the first book in the Infernal Devices trilogy, the prequel to the Mortal Instruments series.

I LOVED the Infernal devices series, so I thought I'd love this series as well, but I just can't get through one chapter without having a mental argument with the author. There is WAY too much cringe-inducing romance, governing political forces make little logical sense, literally every plot "twist" can be predicted, characters seem extremely one-dimensional, and the list goes on. . .a good read for younger teens but not for older readers.

City of Glass is the third in its series called The Mortal Instruments. It is a good read, and I enjoyed it. There is only one thing that I disliked about it, and that was how the author, Cassandra Clare, has taken out one of the key characters named Luke. I mean he is still in the book, but he isn't as important in this book like he was in the first two. However, I do love how the author created so much emotion in the rest of the characters. For example, one of the main characters is named Jace, and he is always battling himself. It seems like throughout the entire book, he is beating himself up about things he could never control in the first place, and it just leaves you aching. Also, another main character by the name of Simon, has to battle his conscience because someone called the Inquisitor wants him to be in allegiance with him instead of Jace. The major theme in this book, I believe, is to follow your own instincts. Throughout the book, Clary must find a cure for her mother's self-induced coma, and she is always doing what she believes to be right. However, an underlying theme is to never just think about yourself, because throughout the series, Clary has often only cared about herself, rather than stepping back and thinking about her actions and what were possible outcomes to what she did. And that often cost her many things. My recommendation for this series is that you should read them. The series keeps you interested, and shows great emotion throughout each installment.

I love this book, but I don't like how most of the pages are missing. They should at least put the first full few chapters in so the reader can get a feel for the book to see if they want to puchase the book are not even bother to read it.
