Those deep blue eyes cut to the chase – holding hers for a second or two – as heated flashes of pleasure ran up and down her body. Eyes drifting lower, she followed the line of his strong nose when his mouth captured her attention and she lingered there – his sensuous lips slightly parted and just waiting for her kisses.

A big male, he stood at least six foot five inches tall with a broad well muscled chest that narrowed at his waist, topping thighs like tree stumps. He wore black – jeans, silk shirt opened to reveal his muscled chest – right down to his big cowboy style boots. An aura of command and power clung to him, yet he appeared casually in control by the hard set of his shoulders and hands loose at his sides – all clear signs this male was a natural born leader.
Well aware she was mooning at him - it was hard not to notice his chiseled features had turned dark and brooding, telling he wasn’t happy to see her.
Shocked and surprised by her intense reaction, a shiver crawled up the back of her neck.
Jericho took note of her shiver and her wet hair, furious that she was out of bed when she clearly wasn't ready. Dark shadows beneath her eyes revealed the effort it had taken her to bathe and come downstairs. Her bare feet startled the hell out of him. “What are you doing up?” His sharp tone demanding an instant answer.
She sighed. Maybe it had all been a part of one of those crazy dreams she’d had, feeling the warmth of his voice tethering her. But, at this moment, he sure didn’t sound soft and soothing – his voice now hard and mean, but worse by far – commanding.
Glancing over her shoulder again – it was all too evident the big male in the doorway gave the orders around here. Right now, he appeared utterly cold – a male who never gave in to emotion – all male all the time. 
Yet, he took her breath away - a pleasurable assault on all fronts – visually, mentally and physically.
Mmhmm.

Softly, Stacey squealed with laughter as Roman Mangetti hugged her too tightly.
Cal absorbed the fantastic sound of her laughter while ignoring Roman’s hands were still on her. 
Oddly, her laughter calmed CCX - settled that cauldron of power inside him - unmanageable power once unleashed.
Stacey's long black hair cascaded around her strong shoulders and tumbled down her delicate back. An incredible set of piercing blue eyes - Aegean blue - and wide lush lips she always painted red made Cal's heart beat like a war drum.
From the first, Cal appreciated her classy looks and those piercing blue eyes that would lead him into a world of wonder. A world he never imagined he’d be part of.
Stacey was that world – she made that world possible for CCX.

When Valerie awoke, she noticed that the sun had come up and knew she had fallen asleep. She began to panic and escaped his grasp quickly. She rushed to her clothes and began dressing frantically. Seclusion Lake was the perfect place for Phoenix Ashland to take Bailey, the woman he had fallen in love with. He had been her divorce attorney, and the two of them had just "clicked." They bonded over a cheesy mystery movie, and things had gone from there.

After driving down the winding road to Seclusion Lake, Phoenix guided Bailey down a concrete path that led to the cabin. At the beginning of the path was a large wooden sign with the number one painted on it.

Each of the five houses surrounding Seclusion Lake had a wooden sign, and each with a different number… one through five. They drove down the path under lowered tree branches that hovered over the road, connecting haphazardly in the middle. The sunlight was hidden from them, the path becoming creepier as they went.

When Bailey stopped the car, the brakes made a high-pitched, screeching sound, and Phoenix cursed.

"Damn, Bailey."

"I told you this thing is crap!"

They arrived at a black iron gate, and under a black plastic cover on one of the brick pillars, Phoenix entered a code that would open the gate for sixty seconds before it locked again.

The gate opened and they made their final descent into the driveway. The dark, wooden, two-story cabin stood halfway between the rocky and sandy shore of the lake and the lawn that was plush with green grass. Bailey was awestruck.
