About this ebook

From teaching disadvantaged adolescents to affluent elementary school children, and working with principals ranging from a supportive humanist to a data-nut despot, the second year of Steve Hepting's career is far from boring. Set in 2004, the timeless numbness of the education bureaucracy, the comedic antics of students in the classroom, and the foibles of teacher and support staff colleagues ring as true today as they did then. The life of a school comes alive with zest, pathos, and humor. Given the tortuous career road he has chosen, can Steve ever return to the much more sedate stock broker occupation he once enjoyed?

About the author

Clyde Woolman has been a teacher and counselor; a principal of an elementary, middle and three high schools; and completed a six year hiatus as Superintendent (CEO) of a school district before re-engaged neurons led him to voluntarily announce a return to a school. At one time or another he has been involved in education from Kindergarten through to the university level. He has delivered speeches at conferences, sat on panels, presented at workshops, and led teams of teachers and principals to report on schools. Instead of the incessant talking about the trials and tribulations of teachers and schools, he decided to craft a novel instead, his third after two Young Adult novels, as a tribute to those working and supporting the students in their care.
