Beau Madison was coming to the end of his time as a navy SEAL, wanting to carry on with the same kind of work but with less restrictions and unlimited budget he was given the chance to join the Mavericks, a covert black ops team. Beau had already done one mission as backup to Jax, who was now giving him his instructions. It was Beau's turn to lead a mission before joining a team, a sort of initiation. Beau was to have back up from an old colleague Asher, and their mission was to take them to Alaska to rescue the daughter of a wealthy business man who had been kidnapped by a cult who were taking young girls to sell in the sex trade. Danika Lindstrom was tied up in a small, filthy underground cell with only a small grid in the roof, Danika , a really gutsy girl, sets about forming an escape plan. Beau and Asher soon realise that they are up against a small army of guards in a camp surrounded by razor wire and that there are lots more young girls to be rescued. This story is action packed, it has kidnapping, murder, rogue military personnel and of course romance. The interaction between Beau and Danika is lovely even though she infuriates him at times. This is the fourth book in the Maverick series, they are all standalone and I have really enjoyed them all. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

If you saw my review of Book 3, Jax, you will understand when I say that no candy can provide the goose bumps I got from reading Beau, whose mission is to rescue a kidnap victim believed to have been taken to Alaska. Danika could have been any college co-ed, someone’s sister, daughter, cousin or friend kidnapped on her way to class, hooded and thrown into a car, then drugged and flown in a plane to a location completely unknown to her, where she regains consciousness locked in an underground cell. What Danika does, though, that sets her apart from many kidnapped young women is to keep her head, free herself from her prison, and then free Nania, another captive. Just as Nania panics and runs from where she and Danika were hiding, Beau finds and rescues Danika. On learning her identity, which means that he has just accomplished his mission, Beau is ready to get Danika away from the compound where the kidnappers and the rest of the captives are. That’s when the second thing that sets Danika apart from many other young kidnap victims comes to light – she refuses to leave without the other captive women, who are to be shipped to who-knows-where that same day. Thus begins an exciting, action-filled adventure. The who, the what, the where and the why – all there to be discovered in nail-biting can’t-put-it-down reading. I absolutely love this story. Beau is a highly trained and skilled military man working for the Mavericks . The Mavericks send in on his mission to Alaska he is task with infiltrating a cult that kidnaps women and rescuing a woman named Danica .Beau with Asher his back up set out to survey the cults property . To their surprise Danica has escaped her holding cell and Is attempting her own rescue . Beau's job gets more complicated when they discover women are being kidnapped to sell . Danica refuses to leave without rescuing the women . Danica is just as much a hero as Beau and Asher . This story is action packed and so suspenseful . Absolutely intriguing . Daniac is a quirky billiant and brave woman . I highly recommend taking the time to read and enjoy . I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
