I actually read Darren Shan while I was doing a prison term. And truthfully I loved every minute I was reading his books. I got many of my adult women friends to read them as well. The next thing you know about 5 women are all waking me up every night to ask me. "So what happens to the boy in the 1st book." or "what happens to the ___ in this book ". His reads are infectious. I promise you. He is a wonderful writer. And the way he makes it all come together in the end of it all is brilliant

I have read this series when i was 14, im now 20, i forgotten so much, the more i move on the more i cant stop reading. 6 books were pretty fast to read since it seem each book have gotten shorter. However this kept my eyes onward, On to the next book, This series had me me a reader, if it wasnt for it, i wouldn't never gotten to know the beauty of picking up a book.

I started reading these in high school when they first came out but ran out of reading time and stopped at this book I believe. I'm now 27 and have read three of them in less than a week ;)
