I have not even read it yet! But you better believe if it is written on paper from the Unrequited Mind of Dean R. Koontz whom not only wrote the, A Big Little Life: The Memoir of A Joyful Dog. A heartwarming tribute to Trixie,a Golden Retriever he and his Wife adopted through CCI a Non-Profit Organization which he has donated millions to which helps disabled veterans to have a Canine Companion to help them and just be Loyal and Loved as Trixie was to Mr.Koonz & his Wife. When Trixie passed away in 2007 I cried my Heart out just as I did when my 13 year Golden Retriever, Greta Garbo passed in 2006. Happily we were Blessed with a grandson Barbara Ann who still fills us with daily joy and loves to chase our Cats in a Loving way. No matter his genre of writings,he is my favorite! Also leaving me with a Profoundly and all time favorite quote! Childhood is just where the story begins,it does not need to predict your future.

I have read Dean Koontz for years but he kinda lost me on his Odd series. This new Jane Hawk series has been a real page turner. I have gobbled up the first 4 novels and can hardly wait for #5. I love dystopian stories, especially with a female protagonist. I like how she is smart and strong but with loving spirit and a sense of rightness. Dystopian scenarios can be thought provoking and can keep us open to new ideas and, hopefully, on our toes against those who might grab and misuse power.

Although slower paced than most of Koontzs' novels ,I still found myself intrigued and immersed in Jane Hawkes world. Nick was a highly decorated military man,a loving husband and fine father. Out of the blue, Nick commits suicide. But Jane won't accept that , considering he wasn't depressed nor was anything unusual. Jane, who is an FBI agent, uses all her training and skills to get the answers she needs in order to move on. As the clues brings her closer to a dark and sinister plot against humanity, Jane realizes her life as an agent is over.
